SUSPECTED RITUALIST LYNCHED IN OGUN
Two suspected ritualists have been set ablaze in Oja Odan ,Yewa North council of Ogun state.
Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said in a statement yesterday.
He said the suspects were arrested and taken to Oja Odan Divisional Headquarters following an allegation that a fresh human head concealed in a sack was seen with them
"While the suspects were been interrogated in the station, some unscrupulous elements went and mobilised a large number of people who invaded the station aggressively, overwhelmed the police personnel on duty and subsequently hijacked the suspects,beat them to death, and set their bodies ablaze" the police statement read.
He warned that the Ogun State Police Command will not tolerate such barbaric and unlawful action.
"In view of the incident,the command wishes to sound a note of warning to those who are always in the habit of taking the law into their own hands to desist from such uncivilised behaviour as the command will henceforth be dealing with whoever carried out such activities in the most decisive manner" the police said

"Gunmen have killed a Divisional Police Officer in Katsina.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdullahi Rano was slain when he led a team of police and military personnel to repel a gun attack on the Magama area of Jibiya council of the state early yesterday.
A soldier was also said to have sustained injuries in a shootout with the invaders, who attacked the community at about 2 a.m
The Army was yet to speak on the reported wounded soldier, but a community leader, Abubakar Sani, confirmed the attack.
Another source said calm had been restored, with security personnel patrolling the town.
Further information revealed that the terrorists stormed the town in large numbers, shooting randomly.
It was learnt that the bandits abducted the wife of one Haliru Mai Bakin Mai before the Rano-led team engaged them in a gunfight.
Police spokesman Gambo Isah did not take calls to his phone and was yet to respond to the SMS sent to him for confirmation of the incident.
But he did post the picture of the slain DPO on his WhatsApp platform with acronym 'RIP' on it."
