In preparation for the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal, MOROCCO is expanding and modernizing its airports.The country has committed to investing $4.2 billion (38 billion dirhams) over five years to upgrade its airport infrastructure.

Morocco aims to more than double its airport capacity from 38 million to 80 million annual passengers by 2030. A new terminal is planned for Casablanca, expected to handle an additional 20 million travelers each year.

The upgrades are part of Morocco's broader strategy to position itself as a leading travel and sporting hub in North Africa, aiming to attract 26 million tourists by 2030.

This significant investment reflects Morocco's commitment to hosting a successful World Cup and boosting its tourism industry.

The tournament will kick off on June 13 or 14, 2030, and the final is estimated to take place on July 21st.

The 2030 World Cup will feature 48 teams, an increase from the 32 teams that competed in Qatar in 2022.
