Rita Dominic is always known for featuring in romantic, sorrowful and action thriller movies. She has been in the industry for over two decades. She always plays the role of a romantic wife, girlfriend, runs girl, royal princess, palace maid, orphan, widow, president daughter, industrious working class lady, independent corporate young lady and a self made young lady in several Nollywood movies.

She was born on 12th July, 1975 in Mbaise, Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. She is currently 44 years old. She is the youngest child in a family of four siblings. Rita Dominic is a member of the Royal family of Waturuocha of Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. Her late parents were medical practitioners. Her late father was a medical doctor while late her mother was a nursing officer.

Rita Dominic is originally from Mbaise, a small town in Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. Rita Dominic completed her primary school education in Ikot Ekpene, a small town in Akwa Ibom State in the south southern part of Nigeria and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. After completing her primary school education, Rita Dominic proceeded to Federal Government College in Ikot Ekpene, a small town in Akwa Ibom State in the south southern part of Nigeria and obtained her West African Senior School Certificate.

Rita Dominic is currently a GLO Ambassador and the CEO of Rita Dominic Productions. She began her career as a model at a very tender age before joining the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood professionally. She started acting right from her secondary school days and was an active member of her school dramatic club. She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles. She knows how to interpret her roles very well and can fit in any character given to her by movie directors and producers in Nigeria.

In 1998, Rita Dominic joined the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood and acted in her first movie “A Time to Kill” a movie that brought her to limelight. The movie gave her an advantage in Nollywood and also attracted her to movie directors and producers in Nigeria. In 2004, Rita Dominic won an award for Most Outstanding Actress in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards. Rita Dominic is one of the most accomplished actresses in Nollywood. She stated during an interview that her determination and persistent is the secret of her success in the entertainment industry.

After completing her secondary school education, Rita Dominic proceeded to University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State in the south southern part of Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts in 1999. She had interest in acting at a very tender age and started performing in stage drama when she was still a child, appearing in school plays, drama and children’s television shows in her hometown of Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

Aside from acting, Rita Dominic is also a producer. She has produced numerous films both in Nigeria and abroad. Rita Dominic is currently married with beautiful kids. She is indeed a force to reckon on in the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood. Aside from acting and film production, Rita Dominic is also a philanthropist. She established her charity and nongovernmental organization to assist the poor and less privilege and also to give back to the society for their support in her career.

Rita Dominic has acted in more than 300 Nollywood movies. Some of the movies she has acted include Children of Terror, Prisoner of Love, My Guy, Face of a Liar, The Meeting, A Time To Kill, Aba Riot and many more. Rita Dominic is one of the highest paid actress in Nigeria and also one of the richest actress in Nigeria. Aside from been wealthy and successful, she is also very beautiful and has been listed in several ranking media as one of the most beautiful actress in Nigeria.

Rita Dominic currently has an estimated net worth of over $3 million, making her one of the richest and most influential actress in Nigeria. She is also very popular on social media with more than a million followers on her official Instagram account. In 2011, Rita Dominic received a national honor by the Nigerian federal government as Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) being the highest honor and an award given to a celebrity in Nigeria who has contributed immensely to the economy growth and development of the country through entertainment.

SPOTLIGHT ON 57TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE LEGENDARY BOOK THINGS FALL APART!

Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the 57th anniversary celebration of the legendary book Things Fall Apart, written by the iconic Chinua Achebe, a literary giant of blessed memory.

What I deeply admire about Achebe is how he never compromised his authentic Igboness. He told our story, the Igbo story, with dignity, truth, and pride.

The special guest speaker was Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, another global literary force who continues to champion our culture and values through her writing.

It’s always a joy to be present at events in the Southeast, exceptionally now as calm gradually returns to our homeland.

I urge every Igbo son and daughter to recognize the power in who we are and to reflect that through our actions: by investing in and contributing to the growth of Ala Igbo first, before anywhere else.

Together, we will MAKE ALA IGBO GREAT AGAIN!

Moniepoint Principal Software Engineer, Julian Dumebi Duru has retired aged 28, after 10yrs at MoniePoint.

Duru is behind idea of virtual accounts which is now used across fintechs in Africa today.

A UNILAG boy from ISL. He finished #8 in 2009 WASCE in the entire country. Started coding at age 14 got pretty good from free lance jobs, until 2015 when a friend recommended him to Tosin Eniolorunda, Co-founder and Group CEO.

Initially he wanted to leave after his first 3 months, after a tough Fidelity Bank project they handled. Which was his first major project and it showed him he had a lot to learn. Which was overwhelming.

After that, he decided to withdraw a little from coding and then landed on DevOps, where he blossomed for a decade.

He joined Moniepoint during their TeamApt days, and started as a lead software engineer in February 2015, then grew to Automation Engineer in 2017.

In 2018 he became the Product Manager, until 2023 when he got moved to Abuja to work as the Software Architect, a role he relished for one year before the final promotion to Principal Engineer.

With more then 10million active users, last year October, Moniepoint raised $110M from investors in London, including Google, which made them a Unicorn (Valuation of $1bn). Prior, they had already raised $55M.

With this raise and the valuation status, Julian Dumebi Duru is walking away with atleast $850k (₦1.3bn) at least.

Which partially explains why he has now decided to work for “passion” henceforth. But, officially he’s gonna take a short break and work on his AI startup.

He said he stayed at Moniepoint despite poaching attempts, because they cared about him as a human not just about is work.
