The Brave Hunter, Episode One

Uche is a brave hunter. He is from a small village surrounded by thick forests and tall mountains. He is known for his bravery and hunting skills. Every day, Uche would go into the forest with his loyal dog named Lucky. Lucky was not just a dog, he was Uche's best friend, always by his side, wagging his tail and ready for adventure and hunting. Uche loved the dog and the dog lived him.

One sunny morning, Uche set off into the forest with his heart full of hope. Today, he wanted to catch a big animal to bring home for his family. As they walked deeper into the forest, Uche felt the warmth of the sun on his face and heard the singing of birds high up in the trees. He hoped the day would bring something good.

However, as the sun began to set, Uche was worried. He had spent the whole day hunting but had not caught anything. This is unusual. There was hardly a day that Uche went out and failed to catch something.

“Maybe tomorrow will be better." He said to himself. He was scratching Lucky behind the ears as they say under a tree to rest and drink water. After then, he decided it was time to go home and try another day.

But Lucky the dog was not ready to give up. He suddenly stopped and raised his nose to the air. His tail began to wag furiously, and he started to run in a new direction. Uche was surprised but trusted his dog. He knows that the dog was smelling something.

“What is it, Lucky? Show me!” he called as he ran after the dog.

They dashed deeper into the forest, away from the familiar paths, into a place Uche had never seen before. The trees were taller here, their leaves appeared to be whispering secrets to each other. Uche was afraid, and yet excited.

“Where are we going, Lucky? Where are you taking me to?" Uche asked the dog but it kept moving and wagging its tail.

Suddenly, Lucky the dog stopped in front of a large tree. He started barking. His bark was loud and fierce. Uche rushed forward, and to his shock, he saw a young woman tied to the tree! She looked scared but beautiful, with long hair that flowed like the river. Uche’s heart fell into his stomach.

He looked properly and saw that the beautiful lady was kidnapped. The kidnappers surrounded her with guns. Uche realized that the beautiful lady was in danger. The kidnappers already heard his dog barking and they were looking around searching for the dog so they can kill it. Uche tapped his dog and it stopped barking.

"Lucky stop. If you bark again, the kidnappers will see us." Uche said.

He quickly brought out a small bag from his waist. He has a white charm in the bag. It was a special charm that his grandfather had given him. Inside was a magical sleeping powder. Anyone that breathes the powder falls asleep.

“This powder will help us,” he said confidently. He blew the powder into the air, and soon, the men who had captured the lady began to fall asleep, one by one.

But the magical powder also affected the lady. She blinked and slowly closed her eyes. Uche rushed to untie her from the tree.

“I have to get you out of here, quickly!” Uche said.

Just as he freed the lady and was leading her away, he heard loud footsteps approaching. Uche looked around in panic. Several men were running towards them!

It turned out that the beautiful lady is a princess in a far village and she was kidnapped and brought to the forest. The village warriors have been searching for her for many days. When they saw Uche holding the princess and running, they mistakenly assumed he was the one who kidnapped her.

“There he is! The kidnapper! Arrest him." One of them said.

“No! I'm not the kidnapper. I am only saving her!” Uche cried out, but it was too late. The warriors saw him with the princess and did not believe his words. They grabbed him roughly and dragged him away, while Lucky barked and followed them.

Uche was taken to the king’s palace, handcuffed and scared. In the king’s great hall, Uche stood before the king with fear. His heart was beating like a drum. The king, a fat man with a thick beard, looked angry.

“You are a kidnapper! You took my daughter!” he shouted.

“I did not kidnap her! I saved her!” Uche protested, but nobody listened. The king called for punishment, and Uche was sentenced to death. Unbelievable! Uche never thought that helping the princess would bring him such a fate.

As Uche was led away, he was crying. He thought of his village, his mother, and Lucky his dog.

“I must find a way to prove that I'm innocent,” he said to himself. He was locked up in the guard room pending his death day.

Outside the guardroom, Lucky the dog sat quietly with his ears raised up. He seemed to understand that Uche needed help and was in danger. Day turned into night. Uche sat in his cell, filled with sadness and fear, while Lucky waited outside, loyal as always. The dog refused to go.

The stars shone like diamond dust in the sky. Uche thought about the princess, about how she looked so scared. He knew he was not a bad man. He only wanted to do good.

“I will find a way to prove my innocence. I was the one who saved her life. I did not do anything wrong. I don't want to die. I'm just a hunter. I don't even know anyone in this strange village. My village is so far from here. How am I going to escape? If no one comes to help me, they will kill me in few days." He said to himself.

The Arranged Marriage Episode 9

Everyone at the wedding venue thought Ikenna and Temidayo were dead. This is because Nnenna shot them at a close range and in the chest.

The screams filled the air after the gunshots. People ran, others cried, and some were frozen in fear. Ikenna and Temidayo were lying on the ground, not moving. Nnenna held the gun tightly, breathing heavily like someone who pursued an antelope. Her face was full of anger.

"I told you I will come here to finish you off. You can't be happy with another woman when I'm still alive." Nnena said.

Then, from nowhere, police sirens pierced through the chaos. A team of officers stormed the compound, guns raised.

"Drop the weapon now!" One officer shouted at Nnenna. Nnenna turned around, shocked. Before she could run, two policemen jumped on her and took the gun. She screamed and struggled, but it was too late. She could not shoot because she had only three bullets in her gun and she has used them.

People rushed forward to check Ikenna and Temidayo. Some were already crying.

"They are dead! Nnenna has killed them!" Someone shouted emotionally. But suddenly, Ikenna moved. His eyes opened slowly. Temidayo also began to move her fingers. Everyone was shocked.

"They're alive! They are not dead!" A woman screamed. Ikenna sat up slowly, holding his chest.

"Thank you, Jesus," He said. Temidayo sat up too, confused and shaking. The people around looked at them with surprise. "How are they alive? Do you have "odighi eshi charms?" One man asked. Then Ikenna's father came forward to explain what happened.

"We gave them bulletproof vests to wear. We were expecting Nnenna to come with trouble, so we were prepared for her." Ikenna's father said.

Earlier that week, something strange had happened at the hospital where Nnenna was receiving treatment. A nurse had overheard her talking to herself.

"I will make sure Ikenna regrets leaving me. I'l shoot both of them on their wedding day." Nnenna had said loudly. The nurse was scared. She immediately called Ikenna and told him everything.

"Please, be careful. I don't think Nnenna is okay. She's planning something bad." The nurse had said. Ikenna didn't take the call lightly. He knew Nnenna could be dangerous. He went straight to the police and reported everything. The police told him to remain calm and follow their plan.

Ikenna's parents also took the matter seriously. They didn't want anything to ruin their son's happiness. They hired extra security for the wedding. Uniformed and plain-clothed officers were placed around the venue. They also contacted a security company who gave Ikenna and Temidayo special bulletproof clothes to wear under their wedding outfits.

"It's just for safety. Let's not take chances." His father had said before the wedding. Ikenna and Temidayo agreed. It wasn't comfortable, but they wore the bulletproof vests. That was what saved their lives. The bullets hit them, but the vests stopped the bullets. They were lucky to be alive.

"We are alive and well." Ikenna said happily.

As the police dragged Nnenna away, she kept shouting.

"Leave me! You people will regret this! Ikenna, you will never be happy!" She screamed. But nobody listened. The damage had already been done. The police took her away in handcuffs while people watched in silence. It was a shameful end. Guests who had earlier run away slowly returned to the venue. Some of them were still shaking. Others couldn't believe what had just happened. The MC picked up the microphone again.

"This is the most shocking wedding I've ever attended." The MC said. People laughed nervously. Slowly, peace returned.

Ikenna and Temidayo were taken to the hospital for proper checks. The doctor confirmed that they were fine, just a little shaken and shocked.

"You are both lucky. If not for those vests, this story would have ended differently." The doctor said. Temidayo held Ikenna's hand tightly.

"God truly saved us today. She said. They hugged.

Later that night, Ikenna's parents sat down with him and Temidayo.

"We want to say something." Ikenna's father said. His mother looked at Temidayo with love.

"We are very sorry for everything that happened. We made a big mistake by forcing you to marry Nnena, someone you didn't love. We thought we knew what was best, but we were wrong. She said.

"This should be a lesson to every parent. We must stop choosing wives for our sons. It nearly destroyed you. Please forgive us." Ikenna smiled.

"I forgive you. I'm just glad you can see the truth now." Ikenna said. Temidayo also spoke.

"Thank you, Mama. Thank you, Papa. I never held anything against you. I understand you wanted the best for your son. I'm just happy to be part of this family now." Ikenna's mother wiped her eyes.

"You are not just part of this family, you are our daughter. Nothing will change that." Everyone hugged each other. It was an emotional moment. Peace was restored in the family.

The Arranged Marriage EPISODE 8

Finally, the wedding day arrived. Ikenna and Temidayo have been waiting anxiously for their big day. It was a day they have always dreamed of.

"I never knew this day would come. This is so sweet." Temidayo said.

The sun rose on that bright Saturday morning. The whole street was decorated with colourful banners and ribbons. Cars lined the road. Music was playing from loudspeakers and guests were already arriving. It was the traditional wedding of Ikenna and Temidayo. The compound was full of people. Big men in suits, women in expensive lace, and traditional rulers in their royal attires all came. It was a society wedding. Everyone wanted to witness the union of the handsome young man and the humble, beautiful woman who had captured his heart. Ikenna smiled as he stood beside Temidayo in his traditional outfit.

"My heart is finally at rest. I'm getting married to the woman I love. This is the day the Lord has made and I will be glad and rejoice in it." Ikenna said with a shaky voice filled with emotions.

Temidayo looked like a queen. Her coral beads sat proudly on her neck, and her wrapper sparkled under the sun. She danced gracefully beside Ikenna as the talking drum praised their names. Ikenna's mother was overwhelmed with joy. She greeted every guest with pride.

"This is the wife I prayed for. She said to one of her friends. Ikenna's father stood by the elders, laughing and sipping palm wine. The ceremony went smoothly. Food and drinks were everywhere. People sprayed money on the couple as they danced. The atmosphere was bright and full of happiness.

After the traditional rites, the reception started. A large white canopy had been set up with chairs and tables. Guests sat and ate jollof rice, pounded yam, nkwobi, and drank soft drinks and beer. A master of ceremony stood with a microphone, cracking jokes and calling out names of important guests.

"Please, a big round of applause for the newest couple in town!" The MC said, and the crowd clapped. Ikenna and Temidayo danced into the reception ground again, this time holding hands. The DJ played their favourite love song which is "Ada Ada" by Flavour. Guests stood up, cheered, and some joined them on the dance floor. But no one knew that trouble was coming. Nnena was also coming to the wedding for her revenge.

From a distance, a taxi stopped quietly beside a tree not far from the venue. The door opened slowly. Nnenna stepped out, wearing a dark gown and a cap. Her face was hard and angry. Her steps were slow but sure. One of her arms was still wrapped in a bandage, but she didn't care. In her small bag was a black pistol. Her eyes were focused, filled with pain and anger. She crossed the road, walked past some guests, and entered the compound. Nobody noticed her at first.

"I'm here to turn their happiness into sorrow. They will never be happy so far as I'm alive. I will finish them off today." She said to herself.

As the dancing continued, Nnenna moved closer to the centre of the gathering. She opened her bag and brought out the gun. Some guests dancing near her saw it first and ran off. But before anyone could ask questions, she raised the gun in the air and fired one loud shot. "Kpowaaaa!" The music stopped. Screams filled the air. Plates of food fell to the ground. Chairs were kicked aside. It was a chaotic scene.

"Jesus! She has a gun!" Someone shouted. The whole place scattered. People ran in different directions, pushing and shouting. Nnenna stood in the middle of the chaos, breathing heavily like a soldier.

"I warned you all! I warned you! I told you I was coming for you." She shouted. Her voice was loud and angry. The people who had the courage to stay turned to look. Ikenna's parents froze in shock. The MC dropped the microphone and ran away. Temidayo stood behind Ikenna. She shaking. Ikenna stepped forward slowly.

"Nnenna, please put the gun down. Ikenna said in a calm voice.

"Don't call my name!" Nnenna screamed.

"After everything I went through, you all want to dump me like trash? You want to celebrate happiness while I'm still alive? You all think I'll just sit and watch?" Nnenna's voice echoed. Her body shook with rage as she held the gun.

"You think you've won?" she shouted at Temidayo. Temidayo was so afraid. No one has ever pointed a gun at her before.

"You think you can take my place? You think I'll allow this wedding to end in joy? No! Not today!" Nnenna shouted. Temidayo was already crying.

"Please, don't do this. I didn't take him from you. He came to me. I never planned this." Temidayo said. Nnenna laughed.

"Shut up! You think I care? Ikenna, you betrayed me. You let them throw me away. And now, you want to marry another woman while I'm still your wife?" Nnenna said. Ikenna tried to move closer, but she pointed the gun at him again.

"Don't move!" She warned.

People hid behind cars, some peeped from windows nearby. Phones were recording. The crowd had reduced. Only a few brave ones stood at a distance, watching. Ikenna looked into Nnenna's eyes. He saw pain, heartbreak, and anger.

"Please, you don't have to do this. It's not too late to amend things." Ikenna said. Nnenna shook her head slowly.

"It's too late. I've already made up my mind. If I can't have peace, nobody will be alive." Before anyone could say another word, Nnenna raised the gun and pointed it straight at Ikenna. Without hesitation, she pulled the trigger. "Kpwaaai"

The bullet hit Ikenna on the chest. Screams filled the air again. Before Temidayo could move, Nnenna turned the gun on her and fired again. "Kwaaai!" Temidayo fell beside Ikenna. Both of them lay on the ground. Nnenna stood there, breathing fast, the gun still in her hand. Guests who had gathered earlier were now running for safety. Some jumped over fences. Ikenna's mother fainted. His father called the police. It was meant to be a joyful day, but it ended in chaos.

The Arranged Marriage Episode 7

Ikenna was the one who took Nnenna to the hospital after the jollof rice saga. Left for Ikenna's mother, no one would have helped Nnenna.

"She doesn't deserve help. She had the mind to lock me in the toilet for a whole day." Ikenna's mother said. But Ikenna has a good heart and he knows there was going to be trouble if Nnenna was allowed to die without help. He was the only one who drove her to the hospital.

Ikenna sat at the edge of the hospital bed. He was looking at Nnenna as she lay quietly under the white bedsheet. Her body was covered with burns, and her face was swollen. The doctor had wrapped most of her upper body with bandages. As she groaned in pain, Ikenna sighed and shook his head in pity.

"I didn't want this for her. No matter how annoying she can be, I never imagined she would end up like this. Temidayo overreacted." Ikenna said.

"Maybe everyone went too far. Maybe they should have handled things differently." He thought in his heart. But it was too late.

Ikenna begged the doctors to do everything possible to save her. Nnenna had cried all the way, her skin burning and her pride shattered.

"She poured hot rice on me. Your so-called queen, Temidayo. You just stood there and watched." Nnena said with weak lips which never stops talking. Ikenna had no words. He felt guilty for inviting Temidayo to the house knowing fully well that he was bringing ant-infested firewood into the compound.

Back home, life took a new shape. With Nnenna in the hospital, Temidayo moved around freely. She helped in the kitchen, cleaned the house, and even made food for Ikenna's parents. Ikenna's mother grew fond of her very quickly.

"You are a gift to this family. I feel peace in this house again." Ikenna's mother told Temidayo one morning.

"Thank you, Mama. I'm just doing my best." Temidayo replied. Ikenna's father also noticed the difference.

"This girl has brought light into this house. We need to support our son's decision this time. Let him marry the woman he truly loves." Ikenna's father said with joy.

Ikenna returned home each day and met peace. No arguments, no insults, no drama. For the first time in months, he began to feel what a real home should feel like. He watched Temidayo as she served food at the dining table and laughed with his mother. Her humility amazed him.

"This is the woman should have married but my parents stopped me. I'm sorry, Nnenna, but I can't go back. Too much has happened. We are not meant to be. This is not how I imagined marriage. I don't love you. You were a mistake from my parents and I'm glad they have realized their error." Ikenna said in his heart.

Temidayo was in the kitchen one evening when Ikenna's mother walked in and started talking to her in a sweet way.

"My daughter, don't go anywhere again. Stay here. This is your home now. You are my son's wife already. I will not allow anyone to push you away again. I have seen your heart, and I know what you carry. Please don't leave." She said.

"Thank you, Mama. I will not disappoint you."

Temidayo said. That same evening, Ikenna walked into the sitting room with a sweet smile.

"Mama, Papa. I want to marry Temidayo traditionally. I want us to fix a date." Ikenna said. Ikenna's parents looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

"You have our full blessing. We'll provide everything you need. Just give us the date." Ikenna's father said.

"Thank you, sir. Thank you, Mama." Temidayo was shocked but happy. Temidayo hugged him tightly. That night, the house was filled with joy. His mother brought out wine and served everyone. His father made calls to some relatives and started preparing for the event. It was a new chapter for the family.

Meanwhile, Nnenna was still in the hospital, recovering slowly. Her wounds were healing, but her anger was growing.

"So they left me here to die while they live like one happy family?" She said to herself. The

nurses avoided her because she had become aggressive. She threw food on the floor and refused to take her medicine.

"They think they can replace me? I will show them." She said. One of the nurses tried to calm her down.

"Madam, you need rest. This anger will not help you heal." The nurse said.

"Don't tell me nonsense. Just do your job." Nnenna replied.

She picked up her phone and went through her gallery. Pictures from the wedding stared back at her. She threw the phone on the bed and covered her face with the bedsheet.

"After everything I went through to get married, they want to push me aside like trash. Never. Not while I'm still alive." She said. The next morning, one of the cleaners in the hospital told her what she heard.

"Madam, I heard that your husband is preparing for another traditional wedding. He's marrying that fine girl that beat you." Nnenna sat up with her bandaged arms. She was shaking in anger.

"What did you say? They've fixed a date. His parents are supporting it. They even say the girl is still in the house." The cleaner walked out, leaving Nnenna boiling with rage.

"No, this can't be happening. They want to disgrace me. They want to erase me like I never existed. They are planning a wedding while I'm still lying here in pain? Let them wait for me. I will not stay here and watch them celebrate. I will go there myself. I will show them madness they've never seen."

The Arranged Marriage Episode 6

Temidayo stood like a female soldier outside Ikenna's family house. She looked at the gate for a long time. She didn't know what was waiting for her inside the compound, but she had made up her mind that she was ready for anything. She was wearing a nice, flowing gown. Under her flowing gown, she wore black short nicker and a tight top. She has heard enough stories about Nnenna and her madness. If a fight broke out today, she was not going to be caught off guard. She will just flip the gown and do the needful.

"I'm not scared of her. I'm not leaving Ikenna for her. I will show her the difference between egbe and egbe." Temidayo said. She opened the gate and walked in. Ikenna was waiting at the door and welcomed her with a smile.

"My love! My queen! Welcome. Come in." Ikenna said.

The house was quiet when Temidayo entered. She looked around and noticed that no aroma was coming from the kitchen.

"I thought you said I should come for dinner?" Temidayo asked. Ikenna scratched his head and looked away in shame.

"I didn't know no one cooked. Please help me. Just enter the kitchen and make something nice. My mother is very hungry. Nnena has starved her since morning." Ikenna said. Temidayo frowned, but she was happy to help.

"Okay. I'll make something really nice. But I hope this won't end in drama." She went into the kitchen and tied a wrapper around her waist. She began washing the rice and preparing tomatoes.

Three hours later, the smell of well-cooked jollof rice filled the entire house. The tomatoes had fried well, the rice was soft and absolutely tasty. The meat was seasoned perfectly. Even Ikenna's mother came into the kitchen to peep into the pot.

"My daughter-in-law, this your hand is too good. This is the kind of woman my son needs. Not that she-goat that calls herself Nnenna." Ikenna's mother said happily. Temidayo smiled. She was dishing out the rice when Nnenna suddenly appeared at the door like a ghost. She didn't say a word. She walked in, lifted the whole pot of jollof rice, and carried it outside.

"What are you doing?" Temidayo asked her. Nnenna turned sharply and hissed as if Ternidayo was a child.

"As long as I am the wife in this house, I decide who eats and who goes hungry. I don't care who cooked the food. I am taking it to my room. No one will touch it." Nnena said angrily.

"Are you serious?" Temidayo asked. She was shocked. But Nnenna didn't respond. She carried the hot pot and marched straight to her room like a queen who has just won a battle. Temidayo stood in silence for a few seconds. Then she removed the gown she was wearing, revealing her shorts.

"I've been looking for a reason to deal with this woman. I came prepared for battle. That is even why I'm wearing short nicker. Let me go and pound her like 'akpu." Temidayo said. She stormed into Nnenna's room without knocking. Nnenna was already seated on the bed with the pot in front of her. She was eating the rice directly from the pot.

"Leave this room." Nnenna said without even looking up. Temidayo didn't respond. She walked straight to the bed, snatched the pot from Nnenna, and moved it to the corner.

"You must be very foolish. You think I'm one of those old women you used to beat? You picked the wrong person today." Temidayo stood firm and looked directly at her.

"You are lucky I even cooked in this house. You are nothing but a troublemaker. Why did you seize the whole pot? Are you normal? You dey ment?" Temidayo shouted. Nnenna slapped her hard across the face. Temidayo staggered back for a second. The slap was very harsh. It is the type that makes you to see red stars.

With anger in her heart, Temidayo opened the pot and slammed it on Nnenna's head. The hot Jollof rice poured all over her. Nnenna screamed like a wild animal and started running around the room with the pot stuck on her head.

"Jesus! My body! My face!" She cried. Temidayo stood by the wall, watching her.

"Next time, don't try it with me." Temidayo warned.

The noise in the room brought Ikenna and his mother rushing in. Ikenna stood there in shock as he saw Nnenna running up and down with rice on her body. The pot was still hanging on her head.

"Somebody should help me! My head is burning!" she screamed. Temidayo leaned on the wall, folding her arms.

"If you ever touch my food again, I'll fry you like plantain." Temidayo said. Ikenna wanted to say something but didn't know how to enter the drama. His mother, however, was laughing. She bent over and laughed like someone who had just won a jackpot.

"Temidayo, you have shown her small pepper today! I have been waiting for the day someone will put her in her place. You did not disappoint me. That pot on her head fits her perfectly. That's her crown as the queen of madness. Let her wear it well." Ikenna's mother said. Nnenna was now on the floor, crying. Her wrapper had fallen off, and she was half-covered in food. She looked defeated. Temidayo walked out of the room with her head high.

"This is my last warning to you. Next time will be worse." Temidayo said. Ikenna's mother followed Temidayo out, still laughing.

"You have removed shame from my eyes today. That girl has been tormenting me in this house. Can you imagine she locked me in the toilet today? She said I was hiding Ikenna. If not for you, I don't know how this house would have been. You are the one I prayed for. You are the one my son should marry." Ikenna's mother said as she hugged Temidayo tightly. Temidayo smiled and wiped her face with the edge of her wrapper.

"Don't worry, Mama. I'm not afraid of her. I came here prepared." Temidayo responded.

Ikenna's mother turned to her son and said:

"Now you have seen with your own eyes. This is the woman you should marry. The one with sense and courage. Not that empty vessel making noise up and down. Temidayo has shown today that she has a lion's heart. She has done what I've been praying for all these weeks."

The Arranged Marriage Episode 5

Throughout the night, Nnenna was not herself. She was sad and she did not sleep well.

"It's been long I got married to this man and he has refused to touch me. Am I firewood? I'm sure he is touching another woman outside. He can't just stay like that without touching a woman. I must stay here and wait for him. He will come back here and explain where she slept last night." Nnena said to herself.

She sat on the edge of the bed with her arms folded and her eyes fixed on the door like a bright torch light. As soon as she heard Ikenna's car outside, she stood up quickly and waited for him at the door. She was standing there like a soldier.

"Where did you sleep last night, Ikenna?" she asked as soon as he entered the house.

"My car broke down on my way back yesterday. I was in the middle of nowhere, and there was no mechanic around. I had to park the car somewhere safe and lodge in a hotel." Ikenna said. He knows what he said was a lie and he prayed Nnenna would be convinced.

"Really? Why didn't you call me?" Nnenna asked. Ikenna walked to the fridge and took a bottle of water. He opened it and started drinking.

"My phone battery died. I couldn't charge it in the car, and by the time I got to the hotel, I was too tired to look for another power source to charge. I'm sorry." Ikenna said.

"Okay," she said. She stood up and moved closer to him.

"I've missed you. Please, come to the bedroom. Let's spend some time together. Just me and you. I've waited long enough, Ikenna. I want it now so badly." Nnena said with a mischievous eye. But Ikenna stepped back and shook his head.

"Not now. I have to go to work. I have an early meeting. I'm already late as it is. I promise we'll spend time together when I get back this evening." Ikenna said. He has no urgent meeting. The truth is that he did not want to touch her. Nnena was disappointed.

"You always say that. You've been avoiding me since the wedding. Don't I deserve love too? Don't you want us to enjoy this marriage?" She asked. Ikenna walked past her and picked up his laptop bag.

"I said I'll come back in the evening and be with you." Ikenna responded.

Nnenna watched him walk out of the house without even a goodbye. She stood there for a few minutes, feeling cold and rejected. She walked slowly back to the bedroom and sat on the bed again. Her eyes were empty, her heart was tired. She looked at the wall for a long time before lying down. She stayed in that same position until the afternoon passed. When evening came, she got up and walked to the kitchen, but she wasn't hungry. Ikenna did not return home that night. She didn't call him. She just waited in vain.

"This boy is using my heart to play table tennis. Why is he avoiding me? When he comes back now, he will tell me another lie. I'm sure he is spending time with another woman out there. If not, why is he rejecting me? What have I done wrong?" Nnena asked herself tearfully.

Meanwhile, Ikenna was in Temidayo's house again to pass the night. The moment he entered, she welcomed him with open arms. They talked, they laughed, and they made love. The connection between them has returned. The fire has come back. They held each other like people who has finally found peace. Ikenna told her that he had no plans of going back to Nnenna's bed. Temidayo believed him. They stayed up late talking about their dreams and how they would escape the drama once everything calmed down. For the first time in weeks, Ikenna slept like a baby again.

"I don't ever want to leave you again. You are my queen." Ikenna said with a romantic voice.

"And you are my king." Temidayo responded.

The next morning, Ikenna drove back to his parents' house. He was expecting Nnenna to ask questions again. He was already trying to come up with lies to tell. As he opened the gate and entered the compound, Nnenna was already standing at the entrance, acting like a dutiful wife. She smiled and helped him carry his bag inside.

"Welcome, my husband," she said sweetly.

Ikenna nodded without responding. He walked towards the corridor leading to the bedroom.

But just as he passed the kitchen door, he heard a strange sound. It was like someone crying. He paused. He turned and walked slowly to the kitchen door.

"Please let me out of this place, I'm suffering." The voice said.

The cries grew louder. They were coming from the toilet beside the kitchen. Ikenna frowned. He opened the toilet door and stepped back in shock. His mother was sitting on the toilet floor, her wrapper untied, her hair scattered, and her face swollen from crying.

"Mama! What happened to you? Who did this?" His mother looked up at him with tears running down her face. She tried to stand but stumbled..

Ikenna rushed in and helped her up.

"Mama, what are you doing here? Who locked you up?" he asked again. Her lips were shaking as she spoke.

"She locked me here. It's Nnenna. Your wife. She said I was hiding you in my room. She said I helped you run away. She dragged me and locked me in here since morning. I begged her, but she didn't listen. Ikenna, what kind of woman did you marry? She is not a wife. She is a problem." His mother said tearfully. Ikenna looked furious. He held his mother's hand and walked her to the sitting room.

"Ikenna, you have to do something. This woman is not for you. You can't live with her. She will destroy this house. She already insulted your father. She has made our home a prison. Please, my son, listen to your mother. Send her away." His mother said while kneeling down.

Ikenna looked away in silence. He didn't know what to say. His mind was already far from Nnenna. He had only returned out of duty, not love. His heart was still with Temidayo. That's where he belonged.

"Ikenna, please, chase this woman away. Let her go. Bring Temidayo back. That is the woman I want. That is the woman who respects us. Temidayo is the one who will make you happy. Not this one that locks your mother in a toilet. What kind of wife does that? Please, my son. Don't let this continue. Bring Temidayo back before it is too late." She said. Her voice was shaking as she begged, still kneeling down.

Ikenna picked up his phone and called Temidayo.

"Please come to the house this evening for dinner." He said.

"What? What about your wife?" Temidayo asked.

"I said you should come. I have a plan." Ikenna said.
