Buhari and the Story of Nigeria 🇳🇬
A simple tribute in truth and reflection
In the land of Nigeria, big and proud,
Where voices rise and drums beat loud 🥁,
Lived many leaders, both strong and weak,
Some brought joy 😊, some brought tears 😢 to our cheek.
One of them was Buhari, known by name,
He ruled two times, with hopes and blame ⚖️.
First in uniform 👮🏽, later in cloth 👔,
He tried to lead — though not without fault.
He faced hard times — wars ⚔️ and fear 😨,
People cried loud, he tried to hear.
He fought corruption 💼🚫, shouted “change! 🔁”
But still, so many things stayed strange 🌀.
"Rayuwa tamu kamar mafarki ce," (Our life is like a dream 🌙)
"Ko da me ka yi, rana ɗaya za ka tafi."
(Whatever you do, one day you will leave 🕊️)
“Aye o da duro,” (Life doesn’t last forever ⏳)
“Rere tabi ibi, gbogbo wa la maa ku.”
(Good or bad, we will all die one day ⚰️)
“Ndụ bụ njem — onye obula ga ala.”
(Life is a journey 🚶🏽— everyone must go one day 🛑)
Whether we like the truth or not,
Buhari is part of Nigeria’s plot 🧩.
Not he alone — both dead and alive,
Helped this country grow and survive 🌱.
From Zik, Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello,
To leaders we know and those still mellow,
Some brought peace ✌️, some brought strife 🔥,
All were part of Nigeria’s life 🇳🇬.
"Kowa da nasa gudunmawa," (Everyone has played a part 🤝)
"Duniya ba ta dindindin — mu tuna hakan."
(This world doesn’t last — let us remember that 🕰️)
So if you lead or if you serve,
Do it well, with truth 💬 and nerve 💪🏽.
Because one day we’ll all be gone 🌅,
And only our actions will live on 🪞.
Let’s plant good seeds 🌾 for those to come,
Let peace 🕊️ and justice ⚖️ be our drum.
So when we’re gone, our names will say:
“They tried their best… before they went away.” 🌌
