Theme: Kindness Misunderstood
Text: 2 Samuel 10:2-3
“David said, ‘I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, just as his father showed kindness to me.’ But Hanun’s officials said to him, ‘Do you think David is honoring your father by sending envoys to you?’”
A man once offered his neighbor help after a storm damaged his house, but the neighbor rejected it, thinking it was a trick. Later, he found out the offer was genuine and felt deep regret.
Sometimes, good intentions are misunderstood. David’s kindness was misread as deceit, which led to conflict. I want to ask, have you ever been misunderstood in this way?
Likewise, Jesus came to show God’s love, but many misunderstood Him and rejected His message. As followers of Christ, we must keep showing love even when it’s misjudged. The purity of our hearts matters more than others’ opinions.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to show kindness even when others misunderstand my motives. Teach me to love like You did, without fear or hesitation in Jesus' name. Amen. Help others to read.
