😭 THE DOCTORS SAID, “PREPARE FOR HER BURIAL”… BUT MY MOTHER’S LAST SECRET LEFT ME ON MY KNEES. 💔🙏
“Your mother may not survive the night.”
Those were the words the doctor said.
I froze.
The woman lying on that hospital bed wasn’t just my mother…
She was the woman who skipped meals so I could eat.
The woman who wore one pair of slippers for three years just to pay my school fees.
The woman who smiled outside but cried herself to sleep because she couldn’t afford my textbooks.
As I held her hand, I kept praying:
“God, don’t take her yet. I’m not ready.”
Then a nurse handed me an old brown envelope my mother had kept for years.
Inside was a letter.
With shaking hands, I opened it.
The first line broke me completely.
“If you’re reading this, it means I may not be able to tell you these words myself…”
Tears covered the paper as I continued reading.
“The money everyone believed I was saving for myself… I secretly used it to pay your university fees. The land everyone said I sold because I was foolish… I sold it so you could have a future. I never regretted it—not even once.”
I couldn’t breathe.
All those years…
I had complained that my mother never did enough for me.
I even raised my voice at her because I thought she loved my younger siblings more.
I was wrong.
Completely wrong.
I fell beside her hospital bed crying like a child.
“Mom… please wake up. I’m sorry.”
A few moments later…
She slowly opened her eyes.
With her little strength, she smiled and whispered:
“Never wait until people are leaving this world before you tell them you love them.”
At that moment, every grudge disappeared.
Some parents may not have millions in the bank…
But they spend their entire lives investing everything they have in their children.
💔 LESSON:
If your mother or father is still alive, don’t wait for a hospital bed before you appreciate them.
One day, the voice you’ve ignored may become the voice you’ll spend the rest of your life wishing you could hear again.
👇 QUESTION:
When was the last time you told your mother, “I love you”? If she’s still alive, would you call her today?
❤️ May God bless and preserve every good parent.
