*WAKE UP CALL FOR PARENTS !!!*

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OUR PARENTS OF 50s TO 80s AND NOWADAYS PARENTS.

Years back, *poor illiterate parents* whom I refer to as *Group A* (born between 1901 - 1920) produced:

🔹 Doctors
🔹 Engineers
🔹 Pharmacists
🔹 Scientists
🔹 Accountants
🔹 Lawyers
🔹 Pilots
🔹 Architects
🔹 Professors.....etc, whom I will refer to as *Group 'B'*.

The children of *Group 'A'* who later became Group B (born between 1930 - 1950) struggled on their own after Primary 6, Modern school or Secondary schools to become notable personalities in the society. Most of them:
👉🏾trekked to school *barefooted*
👉🏾went to farms before school hours
👉🏾fetched water and firewood from far distance
👉🏾are not given any chop money to the school but eat only when they come back
👉🏾are very good at housechore works
👉🏾did some works including trading after school to survive.
👉🏽acquired handcraft or skills such as basket weaving, broom making etc and use the money realised to support their personal upkeep.

Now *Group 'B'* who have now become parents themselves are *producing Group 'C' children* (born between 1960 - 1980)

These group C children are:
🔹pampered a bit not wanting them to suffer like their parents.
🔹 helped in their homeworks or home assignments from primary school through secondary schools.
🔹take taxi to schools and given chop money.
🔹they are playful and can watch television from till dawn after school.
🔹use some fairly expensive gadgets like wrist watch and world receival radio.
🔹 they are treated like baby kings and queens.
🔹they don't do any household chores.
🔹not forgetting *big pocket money to be wasted* when in higher institutions!!!.
🔹some parents look for *"special centres"* for their children to re-register for the SSSE or NECO that they failed in previous attempts to enhance their chances through exam malpractices

🔹In spite of all these, they came out as average students. 😏

Fast forward, Now *Group 'C'* who have now become parents themselves are *producing Group 'D' children* (born between 1990 - 2010)

These group D children are:
🔹over-pampered
🔹 helped in their homeworks or home assignments from nursery school through secondary schools to higher institutions.
🔹chauffeur driven to very expensive schools or sent abroad to study.
🔹they can watch movies from morning till dawn even in school.
🔹use expensive mobile phones and use artificial intelligence to solve school assignments even during examination.
🔹Spend hours chatting on social media.
🔹 they are treated like baby kings and queens.
🔹they don't do any household chores.
🔹Food is put on the table for them,
🔹their plates are removed and washed by parents or house maids.
🔹They are given expensive cars and clothes,
🔹not forgetting *big pocket money to be wasted* !!!.
🔹No one dare beat or cane them for wrongdoing.
🔹parents look for *"special centres"* for their children to register for the SSSE or NECO to enhance their chances through exam malpractices

🔹In spite of all the distinctions they are armed with, only few can *speak* or *write* correctly. 🤔

😏🤔😏🤔😏🤔Group 'B' Parents cared for their own *parents* and *children* perfectly, Group 'C' Parents cared for their own *children* perfectly leaving their parents at the mercy of God. Unfortunately, the children of Group 'C', (i. e. Group D) are still *struggling to find their feet even at age 30+*.‼️‼️‼️
🤔 They find it difficult to do things on their own because they are used to being helped to think and doing things by their parents. So they can't help themselves, their parents or the society. *They abandon their parents, they are not ready to settle down. Some times, they try to 'use' their parents for rituals in their bid to acquire the world.* You can see the decadence in parenting over the years.

😴 *WHERE DO YOU BELONG?*❓‼️‼️

🏮 ADVICE: Reduce the pampering and the unnecessary help you offer your children.
🏮 Let your children *grow in wisdom, intelligence and strength*.
🏮 Let them face the truth and the realities of life. Teach them to grow to become *independent adults.*
Teach them to:
👉🏾fear God,
👉🏾respect others and
👉🏾develop confidence in themselves.

🤔 Parents, discipline your children to become disciplined adults, *useful* and not *useless.*

CHARITY WRAPPED IN DIGNITY.
A rich man asked an old woman selling by the roadside: "How much do you sell these roasted corns for?" The old seller replied: " #200 per one, young man. The man told her: “I'll get 4 corns for #500 or I'll leave and get none.”

The old saleswoman replied: “You can buy them at whatever price you want.” This is a good start for me because today I haven't sold a single corn and I have to sell everything to feed my family. He bought these corns at the price he offered and left feeling like he had won.

He got into his nice car and went to a fancy restaurant with his girlfriend. He and his friend ordered what they wanted. They ate little and left most of what they ordered. He was given a bill of #6,500. The man dropped a whopping #7,000 and told the salesgirl of the elegant restaurant that the rest was a tip.

This story might seem normal enough for the service girl of the luxury restaurant, but very unfair to the corn seller........The question is: Why do we always have to demonstrate power over a poor person when we buy what he or she has to offer from him or her? And why are we generous to those who don't even need our generosity?

I once read somewhere in someone's memoir: "My father bought goods from the poor at very high prices even though he didn't need these things. He sometimes paid them more. I was in shock. One day I asked him, "Why are you doing this, Dad?" And my father replied:
"This is charity wrapped in dignity, my son".

I know most of you will not share this message, but if you are one of the people who took the time to read this story, please share this story - maybe you're sowing a good seed...Also, try and take care of the poor salesperson selling on the roadside around you in whatever way you can. ONE OF THE EASIEST WAYS - DON'T PRICE THEIR GOODS.
