A beautiful girl named Carola went on vacation to Kenya with her boyfriend, Stefan. While there, she became captivated by a Masai warrior named Lemalian. After a series of events, including a robbery and a confrontation between Stefan and Lemalian, Carola made the decision to stay in Kenya and not return with Stefan.

Carola followed her heart and traveled to Lemalian’s Masai village. Despite warnings from another foreigner, Elizabeth, about the harsh living conditions, she chose to stay. Carola embraced the Masai culture, navigated family resistance, and participated in traditional rituals.

Over time, she and Lemalian married, and Carola launched a village shop, gaining independence and local respect.

Burkina Faso’s parliament has dissolved the country’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing it as a “waste of money.” Instead, the military-led government intends to put the Ministry of Territorial Administration, which oversees the organization and administration of the national territory, in charge of organizing future elections.

President Ibrahim Traoré has also described the Electoral Commission as a tool for peddling ‘foreign influence’.

This is the latest in a series of actions by Burkina Faso to reduce ties with foreign powers.

Is there a cause to worry or democracy is long due for abandonment?

Nigerian Nobel winner Wole Soyinka has revealed the U.S. revoked his visa and banned him from the country.

The 91-year-old author won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1986. He says the US consulate asked him to bring in his passport so his visa could be cancelled in person as new unspecified information had come to light.
Soyinka described the invitation as a “rather curious love letter from an embassy” in a news conference held on Tuesday and told organisations hoping to invite him to the US “not to waste their time”.

"a curious love letter."😩😄

Kenyan innovator Elly Savatia has made history by winning the prestigious 2025 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation, thanks to his groundbreaking sign language translation app, Terp 360.

Awarded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, this £50,000 prize was announced at a live final in Dakar, Senegal, marking a milestone as the first time the event has been hosted in Francophone Africa.

Terp 360 harnesses the power of AI to translate speech into sign language through 3D avatars, tackling interpreter shortages and boosting accessibility in classrooms, workplaces, and public services.

Three other finalists each received £10,000, with a £5,000 One to Watch prize also awarded.

Launched in 2014, the Prize is Africa’s largest award for engineering innovation, providing funding, mentorship, and training to help entrepreneurs scale their solutions and drive positive change.⁣

Heartbreaking news from Senegal.
Young goalkeeper Cheikh Touré lost his life in a tragic incident after being lured by a supposed agent who promised him football trials in Morocco. They were meant to meet in Ghana to discuss the trial, but when Cheikh arrived, he was kidnapped and held for ransom.

His family couldn’t afford to pay the money demanded, and the kidnappers took his life. 💔

Cheikh dreamed only of using his talent to lift his loved ones out of poverty through football.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

And this is serving as a clarion call for young footballers out there aspiring for professional career. BE CAREFUL!

Disrupting The Negative African Narrative

We are sick and tired of western propaganda that negatively portrays Africa. Africa has a rich cultural heritage and amazing feats that have been performed both in the past and present that isn’t being highlighted enough. Tales of Africa provides the avenue to put out content which corrects the distorted view people hold about Africa and also highlight amazing happenings and places that make Africa a gem of a place.
