*OLUFON ATTENDED FIRST EID AMIDST ENCOMIUM AND THANKSGIVING*

His Royal Majesty, Ọba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola Ilufemiloye, Akinyooye III, along with his entourage, which included the council of chiefs, royal family members, political functionaries, members of Ifon Progressive Union, Home Branch, Palace Officials and security agents attended the Eid prayer at Orolu Central Eid in Ifon. Kabiyesi joined in observing the two rakats of the Eid prayer, which was led by the Chief Imam of Ifon, Sheikh, Alh. Muheebulahi Abdulsalam Adesina III.

In the sermon delivered by the Chief Imam, focus was on the importance of sharing food items (Zakatul-fitr) with the needy and less privileged members of the community, emphasizing the spirit of giving and compassion that needed to preceed Eid prayer. This is to afford the poor the happiness that comes with sallah when there is food and drinks to celebrate with.

After leaving the Eid ground, a gathering was held at the Palace, which was attended by the Chief Imam, the Alfas in the town, council of chiefs and other community members. They offered prayers for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Ifon and its inhabitants, reflecting the unity and harmony that exist between the Muslim community and the palace. The event showcased the inclusive and harmonious nature of Ifon's community, where people of different faiths come together to celebrate and support one another.

May Allah accept all our supplications during the month of Ramadan and our Eid prayer as acts of ibaadah. Taqoballahu minna wa minkum.

I am blessed and honored to have visited the newly crowned Oba Peter Oluwole Akinyooye the Olufon of Ifon Kingdom! May God grant him a long and prosperous reign on the throne. It was a moment of immense joy to also meet my esteemed royal fathers, Kabiesi Olobu of Ilobu Kingdom and Kabiesi Elerin of Erin Kingdom. Seeing all three kings together despite the challenges and differences between our towns brought me so much joy! In a show of support for the people of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom, the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Communications, Trade and Investment, Distinguished Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, visited the Royal palace of HRM, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola, Ilufemiloye Akinyooye III. The visit was part of the commitment of Senator Fadeyi to the welfare of the community and his gratitude for their support during the election.

During the visit, Senator Fadeyi expressed his appreciation to the people of Ifon-Orolu and assured them that he would not let them down. He also commended the royal fathers present and acknowledged that the communal crisis between Ifon and Ilobu has become a thing of the past. He emphasised the negative consequences of war and crisis on businesses and livelihoods, recalling his experience with the Ife/Modakeke crisis in 1983.

Senator Fadeyi took the opportunity to commend Governor Ademola Adeleke for his efforts in stabilising peace in both communities. He informed the gathering that he had raised a motion at the Senate, urging the federal government to send relief packages and set up an IDP camp. Although there has been a delay due to an incident at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, he assured them that the relief packages would be delivered to Ifon-Orolu and Ilobu by June.

Furthermore, Senator Fadeyi pledged a donation of N2.5 million to the Central Planning Committee for the king's coronation, which is scheduled for July 6, 2024. He also promised to contribute N500,000 to the party (PDP) and provide 100 bags of rice to the families affected by the communal crisis.
