THE HUNTER AND THE FOREST QUEEN đź‘‘ đź’Ą
‎
‎In a quiet village surrounded by an ancient forest, there lived a hunter named Obinna.
‎He feared nothing.
‎Not man, not beast, not even the spirits whispered about in the dark.
‎His arrows never missed.
‎His footsteps made no sound.
‎And his name echoed across the land.
‎They called him The Lion of the Forest.
‎But Obinna had one flaw…
‎He had no respect.
‎One evening, as the sun dipped low and the sky turned red, an old woman approached him.
‎Her back was bent with age, but her eyes were sharp with warning.
‎“Do not cross the black river,” she said.
‎“That part of the forest does not belong to men.”
‎Obinna smirked, tightening his grip on his bow.
‎“I go wherever I please,” he replied.
‎The old woman sighed deeply.
‎“Then prepare… to meet what lives beyond fear.”
‎But Obinna only laughed and turned away.
‎At dawn, driven by pride, he crossed the black river.
‎The moment his feet touched the other side… everything changed.
‎The forest fell silent.
‎No birds sang.
‎No leaves moved.
‎Even the air felt heavy… as if watching him.
‎Then he saw it.
‎A white antelope.
‎Its body glowed like moonlight.
‎It stood still… calm… almost as if it was waiting.
‎Without hesitation, Obinna raised his bow.
‎He pulled the string
‎And released.
‎The arrow flew… and struck true.
‎The antelope fell.
‎And in that instant… the forest trembled.
‎A voice echoed through the trees.
‎“You have taken what is not yours.”
‎The air grew cold.
‎From the shadows, she appeared.
‎Tall… radiant… and terrifying.
‎Her eyes burned like fire, and her voice carried the weight of the earth itself.
‎“I am the Queen of this forest.”
‎Obinna stepped back, but pride still filled his chest.
‎“It was just an animal,” he said.
‎Her face darkened with anger.
‎“That… was no ordinary creature,” she replied.
‎“That was my child.”
‎Silence fell.
‎The trees stood still.
‎The wind disappeared.
‎Then she spoke again… softer this time… but far more dangerous.
‎“You hunt without respect.
‎Now… you will learn what it means to be hunted.”
‎The ground beneath Obinna cracked open.
‎His body twisted violently.
‎Bones snapped.
‎His skin stretched.
‎His voice turned into a cry that was no longer human.
‎And when it was over…
‎Obinna was no longer a man.
‎He had become a beast.
‎Days passed.
‎Obinna ran through the forest not as a hunter, but as prey.
‎Every sound sent fear through his body.
‎Every shadow made him tremble.
‎He felt what his victims once felt.
‎Traps tore into his legs.
‎Arrows pierced his skin.
‎Hunters chased him… just as he once chased others.
‎But none of them knew who he was.
‎Alone… wounded… and broken, Obinna finally collapsed near the black river.
‎For the first time in his life… he wept.
‎Not because of pain…
‎But because he understood.
‎“I was wrong…” he whispered.
‎“I took life without respect…”
‎“I thought I was above everything…”
‎The forest grew quiet once more.
‎And then… she appeared again.
‎The Forest Queen.
‎This time, her eyes were calm.
‎“Have you learned?” she asked.
‎Obinna lowered his head.
‎“If I am given another chance… I will protect what I once destroyed.”
‎The Queen watched him in silence.
‎Then she spoke.
‎“Then rise… not as a hunter… but as a guardian.”
‎At sunrise, the villagers found Obinna lying by the river.
‎Human again.
‎But no longer the same.
‎He broke his arrows.
‎He laid down his bow.
‎From that day forward, Obinna became the protector of the forest.
‎And no one ever dared to cross the black river again.
‎Because the greatest hunter of them all…
‎Only became a man… when he learned how to stop hunting.
