TROOPS NEED MORE THAN NEW DIVISIONS — NDUME CALLS FOR WEAPONS, HELICOPTERS AND BETTER PAY

Senator Ali Ndume has praised President Tinubu for expanding the Nigerian Army from 8 to 12 divisions and approving 28,000 new personnel.
But he says numbers alone will not defeat insecurity.
Ndume wants each geopolitical zone to have at least 5 attack helicopters for rapid response.
He also called for MRAPs, APCs, modern ammunition, stronger training, and better motivation for troops.
Most strikingly, he urged the government to raise soldiers’ basic pay to at least the equivalent of $300.
He said the real priority is not just recruitment, but “Training, Equipment, Ammunition and Motivation.”
