Barcelona claims Spain Was Aware of Lamine Yamal’s Injury Despite the Federation’s Denial

According to Cadena SER, Barcelona maintain that the Spanish national team’s medical staff were fully informed about Lamine Yamal’s lower back problems during his time on international duty. The club stated that their own medical team, led by Dr. Ricard Pruna, stayed in constant contact with Spain’s staff while Yamal and other Barcelona players were with the national squad.

Barcelona claims that daily updates were exchanged about Yamal’s condition. Before Spain’s game against Turkey, the national team’s physiotherapists reported that Yamal was dealing with acute lower back pain related to a minor sacroiliac joint injury. He was advised to stay at the hotel for treatment.

Spain’s team doctor, Claudio Vazquez, reportedly gave Yamal an injection to ease the pain, warning that he shouldn’t play unless he improved. Despite this, Yamal played nearly 80 minutes, and afterwards, Spain’s staff confirmed he was still experiencing discomfort.

After returning to Barcelona, Yamal has not been involved in full training sessions, only light exercises like rondos. Tests carried out on Saturday confirmed the p***c injury, ruling him out of Barcelona’s next match against Valencia.
