Rest is very important, relationships are irreplaceable, rest can be scheduled but the first 18 years of my children's lives cannot be rescheduled....this rang in my ear again this morning and I cannot but thank God for the community I am, even in this season of my life.
I see many parents complain during the holiday about how they cannot wait for their children to resume school back because they need to rest and they are overwhelmed with the children being around. I used to be in this shoe before but thank God I am out of it.
I see parents that do this now as the ones that lack knowledge and tools to use and engage the children during the holiday, some will even send them back to school to continue learning ABC when holiday is supposed to be used for different things entirely. Bible is so true when I read there that "my people perish for lack of knowledge", there is another place that says "in all your gettings, get understanding". If you are not getting knowledge and understanding as a Christian in 2026, se you know that you are not following God's instruction except you have another bible that you are reading sha.
Many parents take their leave during the time their children are in school instead of taking it during the child's holiday so they can have plenty times to connect but they complain of wanting to rest. You can be home with your children and still rest and even connect better, it all depends on the knowledge and content that you have. I intentionally take my holiday during my birthday, my children's birthdays, mid term breaks and long vacation, yes I purposely plan it so if you see me balling during the holidays, know that I planned for it.
As you are doing all these, you don't need to pause your life because you are raising children, if you do, it is those children that will ask you tomorrow what you achieved with your life🤭. Let me stop here as this is getting longer as I planned already but I believe this is speaking to somebody this morning.
