To get the best in counselling understand that Counselling is deeper than just advice.

You're not going in for counselling to get advice from the counsellor but much more.

Rather than giving advice, a counsellor gives you deeper clarity on the issues on the ground and guides you through a road map to come out of it.

We hope this information is helpful to you😊

Couples in counselling sessions kept asking, "What do you advise we do?".

I understand where the question is coming from because most people assume that counselling is advice. Seeing a counsellor equals getting tips and pieces of advice to sort out their pressing concerns.

The truth is, counselling is not advice.
Everybody can give advice but not everyone can offer counselling. A counsellor is a trained professional talk therapist.

In counselling, the counsellor follows a counselling procedure to assist a client in identifying and clarifying issues, then further assisting the client in exploring viable solutions to resolve the issue.

You see, it's far beyond dishing of advice.

Knowing this will guide your expectations while meeting a counsellor.
