Yesterday, I saw a little boy heading to school, and it instantly took me back to my childhood days when I woke up early, put on my uniform, and rushed to school. I remember how, back then, school felt like the biggest thing in the world. But as time passed, I moved on to secondary school, then university, and now, I am stepping into an entirely new phase of life.

One thing I’ve come to realize is that life happens in stages. You can’t rush them, and even if you try to skip ahead, you’ll often need to go back and complete what you missed. Growth isn’t something you can cheat, it’s a process you have to pass through.

The same applies to my journey as a social media manager. Every day, I’m learning, experimenting, and improving. Just like the time, I had to master reading and writing before moving on to bigger lessons, I know that success in this field comes from embracing each stage, no shortcuts, just steady progress.

As Jim Rohn said, "Income rarely exceeds personal development—unless you grow beyond where you are, it will always match your current level." So, I’m committed to growing, learning, and becoming the best version of myself in this journey.

The Power of Setting SMART Goals for Social Media Growth 🎯

I’ve been learning a lot about social media strategy, and one thing that keeps standing out is GOALS. Whether in personal development or social media, having clear goals makes all the difference. Without them, you’re just posting and hoping for the best.

If you’re serious about growing on social media, you need to set goals and not just any goals, but SMART ones:

👉 Specific – Instead of saying "I want more followers," say "I want to reach 500 engaged followers in 3 months." The clearer, the better.

👉 Measurable – How do you track progress? If you're selling something, instead of saying "I want more sales," try "I want to increase sales by 20% using Facebook marketing"

👉 Achievable – Be realistic. Growing from 0 to 10,000 followers in a month might be tough, but gaining 500? That’s more doable.

👉 Relevant – Your goals should make sense for where you are. If you're a social media manager, focusing on engagement and connections is more relevant than just posting randomly.

👉 Time-bound – Give yourself a deadline. Saying "I want to hit 100 followers by the end of the month" keeps you accountable.

At the end of the day, social media success is more than just posting, it’s about intention and strategy. That’s something I’m learning and applying on this journey.

If there’s one thing I’m learning, it’s that "just posting" on social media isn’t enough. You need a strategy. And today, thanks to HubSpot, I finally understand why!

I spent time learning about:
✨ What a social media strategy really means
✨ Why having a plan is so important (because winging it doesn’t always work 😅)
✨ The different social media platforms and how each one serves a unique purpose

It’s exciting to realize that social media is more than just likes and shares—it’s about intentional growth and real connections. I’m looking forward to learning more and sharing as I go!
