1 dead, 2 rescued in Lagos building collapse

One person died while two others were rescued alive following the partial collapse of a two-storey building undergoing manual demolition in Aboru, Lagos. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu. The incident occurred at about midnight at No. 42, Governors Road, Aboru, in the Alimosho area of the state....

FAAN moves to ease cargo operations, introduces access control system

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is implementing initiatives aimed at easing cargo operations at Nigerian airports and eliminating hindrances to movement of goods. FAAN’s Director of Cargo Development and Services, Mr Lekan Thomas, gave the assurance at a stakeholders’ engagement with customs-licensed agents, on Wednesday in Lagos. Thomas said the measures included introduction of a truck call-up system, improved access control, designation of parking areas for cargo trucks, and expansion of warehouse capacities....

THE Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has condemned the reported blockade of Peter Obi’s convoy while attempting to enter Benue State.
