ORIGIN OF AKASSA CLAN:
Akassa Clan was founded by Lah from Kassama in Apoi Clan of present-day Southern Ijaw. The exact date of its founding is unclear, but it's believed to have been established in the pre-colonial era, likely in the 15th or 16th century.
COMMUNITIES IN AKASSA CLAN BEFORE COLONIZATION: Before colonization, Akassa Clan consisted of 19 communities occupying three barrier islands in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Some of the known communities include Opu-Akassa, Sangana, Kamatoru, Buoama, Minibie, Opu Okumbiri, Hununu, and Okumbiribeleu.

FIRST LIGHTHOUSE:
