Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 9 — The Memory She Was Never Supposed to Keep

Ada staggered backward, holding her head.

The hospital corridor blurred.

Flashes came faster now.

A rainy night… a bright car light… Daniel’s voice calling her name… and a promise she couldn’t fully hear.

“No… this can’t be real,” she whispered.

Daniel stepped toward her. “Ada, what are you seeing?”

She shook violently.

“I remember… I remember you…”

Silence hit the room.

Sophia’s eyes widened slightly.

Daniel froze.

Ada’s voice broke as more memories returned.

“You didn’t leave me because of your family…” she said slowly. “You left because you were protecting me.”

Daniel’s eyes softened.

Ada continued through tears.

“That night… I was supposed to be in that car with you.”

A heavy silence fell.

Sophia lowered her head.

Daniel whispered, “Yes…”

Ada turned sharply. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

His voice cracked.

“Because they told me if I kept you away… you would survive.”

Ada stepped back, trembling.

“So everything… all this pain… was to save me?”

Daniel nodded slowly.

“And I agreed… because I couldn’t lose you.”

Sophia’s voice came softly.

“But the plan changed.”

She looked at Daniel’s brother, who still stood in the corridor with a calm expression.

“He found out Daniel chose you over everything. So he changed the plan… and made the crash happen anyway.”

Daniel’s fists tightened.

“You destroyed everything…”

His brother smiled faintly.

“I protected the family legacy.”

Ada suddenly stepped forward.

“No…” she said firmly.

Everyone turned to her.

Her eyes were wet but strong.

“You didn’t protect anything. You destroyed three lives.”

Silence.

Then she looked at Daniel.

“And you… you carried this pain alone for years?”

Daniel looked away, unable to speak.

Ada walked closer to him slowly.

Her voice softened.

“I thought I lost you because I wasn’t enough.”

Daniel shook his head. “Never.”

Sophia watched them quietly, tears in her eyes.

“I think…” she whispered, “love was never the problem.”

Everyone turned to her.

“It was everything trying to control it.”

A long silence followed.

Then the hospital lights flickered again.

And suddenly…

The emergency alarm went off.

Doctors rushed down the corridor shouting.

“Patient Sophia is collapsing again!”

Daniel turned sharply.

“Sophia!”

But as he reached her…

She grabbed his hand tightly one last time.

And whispered something only he could hear.

Something that made his face change completely.

His eyes widened in shock.

Because whatever Sophia just revealed…

Was the final piece of the truth.

And it changed everything again.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 8 — The Final Truth

The hospital monitor beeped faster in the distance.

Ada’s chest tightened as Sophia’s voice grew softer.

“There’s one more truth…”

Daniel stepped closer, fear in his eyes. “Sophia… what else is there?”

Sophia looked at him for a long moment.

Then she said something that made the entire room freeze.

“The person who tampered with the car… is still inside this hospital.”

Silence.

Even the air felt heavier.

Ada slowly turned her head. “What are you saying?”

Sophia nodded faintly.

“I recognized the voice during my treatment. The same voice I heard the night of the crash… was here again… giving instructions.”

Daniel’s expression hardened. “Who?”

Sophia lifted her trembling hand and pointed toward the hallway.

“Someone very close to you.”

Footsteps echoed outside.

A nurse walked past quickly… then a doctor… then a man in a dark coat standing near the glass door.

Daniel’s eyes narrowed as he stared.

“No…” he whispered.

Ada followed his gaze.

And her heart dropped.

Because she recognized him too.

It was Daniel’s older brother.

The same man who used to “advise” Daniel about his family decisions.

Sophia spoke weakly again.

“He never wanted you free… Daniel. He wanted control over everything you owned… including your life.”

Daniel’s fists tightened.

“You’re lying…” he muttered.

But deep down… he already knew the truth.

His brother stepped into the corridor slowly, clapping lightly.

“Well… it seems the past has finally decided to speak.”

Ada stepped back in shock. “So it was you?”

The man smiled calmly.

“I only did what was necessary for the family.”

Daniel’s voice shook with anger. “You tried to kill me.”

His brother shrugged.

“I tried to correct your mistake.”

The room erupted in tension.

Sophia suddenly grabbed Ada’s hand.

“Listen carefully…” she whispered urgently.

Ada leaned closer.

“The memory medication… it wasn’t just for me.”

Ada froze.

Sophia’s voice broke.

“It was for you too.”

Ada’s eyes widened.

“What?!”

Sophia squeezed her hand tightly.

“You were never supposed to remember him.”

Daniel stared at Ada, confused and shaken.

“What is she talking about?”

Ada stepped back, holding her head.

Suddenly… flashes hit her mind.

A car. Rain. A man calling her name. A promise.

Her breath stopped.

Because something inside her memory… had just woken up.

And what she saw next…

Was something she was never prepared for.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 7 — The Day Everything Was Planned

The hospital room felt suddenly smaller.

Sophia’s words hung in the air like smoke.

“The accident… it wasn’t an accident.”

Ada took a slow step forward. “What do you mean?”

Sophia looked at Daniel first… then at Ada.

“I overheard something before everything went dark,” she said softly. “Someone wanted Daniel out of the way.”

Daniel’s face tightened. “That’s impossible…”

But Sophia continued.

“It was the night before the crash. There was an argument… about inheritance, control… and a relationship that was not approved.”

Ada’s heart pounded.

Daniel slowly lowered his head.

“I remember that night,” he whispered.

Sophia nodded.

“And I remember hearing a name… Ada.”

Silence fell heavily.

Ada’s voice shook. “Why would I be part of that?”

Daniel looked up sharply.

“Because my family believed you were a distraction. They thought if you disappeared from my life… I would finally obey them.”

Ada stepped back in disbelief.

“So… what happened?”

Sophia’s eyes darkened slightly.

“The brakes of the car were tampered with.”

Daniel froze.

Ada covered her mouth.

“And I was in that car,” Sophia added quietly. “I was the one driving… but I wasn’t meant to survive.”

The room went silent again.

Daniel whispered, “So the crash…”

“It was meant to remove both of us from the story,” Sophia finished.

Ada’s knees weakened.

“But something went wrong,” she added. “I survived… and he fell into a coma.”

Daniel clenched his fists.

“And Ada?” he asked.

Sophia turned slowly toward her.

“You were the reason it all started… but also the reason he kept fighting to wake up.”

Ada’s tears fell freely now.

“I don’t understand…” she whispered.

Sophia stepped closer, her voice softer.

“Because even when he lost everything… your name was the only thing he kept repeating.”

Daniel looked at Ada, eyes filled with pain and longing.

“I never stopped loving you,” he said.

A long silence followed.

Then Sophia spoke again… almost like a final confession.

“But there’s one more truth left.”

Ada looked up slowly.

“And this one… will decide everything.”

The hallway lights flickered slightly.

And somewhere in the distance…

A hospital monitor started beeping faster.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 6 — The Love Before the Storm

The hospital corridor felt like it had stopped breathing.

Sophia’s words still echoed in the air.

“There was someone else… and she was the one you truly loved first.”

Daniel’s face went completely still.

Ada stared at him, waiting for denial… waiting for something that would make it less painful.

But Daniel said nothing.

That silence was enough.

Sophia continued slowly, her voice weak but steady.

“I didn’t remember at first… but pieces are coming back.”

She stepped closer, holding the wall for support.

“I remember a name… Ada.”

Ada’s body went cold.

Daniel closed his eyes tightly.

Sophia pointed gently toward Ada.

“She was never just a stranger in your story… was she?”

Daniel finally spoke, his voice breaking.

“No… she wasn’t.”

Ada’s lips trembled. “What are you saying?”

Daniel looked at her with deep pain.

“Before the accident… before everything… I met you first.”

Ada stepped back.

“That’s not true…”

But Daniel shook his head.

“It is.”

Sophia lowered her gaze.

“You left her… not because you stopped loving her… but because you were forced to.”

Ada frowned through tears. “Forced by who?”

A long silence followed.

Then Daniel spoke softly.

“My family.”

Ada’s heart tightened.

Daniel continued, voice heavy.

“They didn’t accept you. They said you were not ‘good enough’ for my world. They threatened to remove me from everything I had if I didn’t marry Sophia.”

Sophia’s eyes dropped.

“I was part of that arrangement,” she whispered. “I thought I was saving him… but I didn’t know he already loved you.”

Ada shook her head, overwhelmed.

“So all this time… I was the one you left behind?”

Daniel stepped forward.

“I never stopped thinking about you, Ada. Not even for a day.”

Tears streamed down Ada’s face.

“And Sophia?”

Daniel looked torn.

“I tried to do the right thing… but I ended up hurting everyone.”

Suddenly, Sophia let out a soft laugh… but it was empty.

“So we are all victims of love that was never allowed to exist freely.”

A tear fell from her eye.

Then she looked at Ada.

“But there’s something you still don’t know.”

Ada wiped her face quickly. “What now?”

Sophia took a deep breath.

“The accident… it wasn’t an accident.”

The room went silent.

Daniel’s eyes widened in shock.

And Ada’s heart dropped completely.

Because whatever came next…

Was going to change everything again.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 5 — The Doctor’s Revelation

The hospital corridor felt unusually cold.

Ada stood beside Daniel, both of them silent, waiting for the doctor to continue.

The doctor adjusted his glasses and spoke carefully.

“The woman you brought in… Sophia… she is stable.”

Daniel let out a shaky breath.

But the doctor wasn’t finished.

“However… there’s something unusual.”

Ada looked up. “Unusual?”

The doctor nodded slowly.

“When Sophia collapsed, we ran more tests. And we discovered something strange about her condition.”

Daniel’s hands tightened.

“What are you saying?” he asked.

The doctor hesitated before speaking again.

“It seems her memory loss… is not completely due to the accident.”

Silence dropped heavily.

Ada frowned. “What does that mean?”

The doctor looked directly at Daniel.

“It means someone has been administering medication that affects memory recovery.”

Daniel’s face went pale.

“That’s impossible…”

But the doctor continued.

“We found traces in her system. It was not hospital-prescribed.”

Ada stepped back slightly, shocked. “So someone… was keeping her from remembering?”

Daniel’s voice shook. “Who would do that?”

The doctor closed the file gently.

“That is what we need to find out.”

Just then, a weak voice came from the end of the corridor.

“Sophia…”

They all turned.

Sophia was standing there, holding onto the wall, weak but awake.

Her eyes slowly moved from the doctor… to Daniel…

Then to Ada.

And this time, something had changed.

Her gaze was clearer.

More aware.

She whispered softly:

“I remember something now…”

Daniel moved closer quickly. “Sophia, please—what do you remember?”

Sophia’s lips trembled.

“I remember… I was never the only wife.”

The words hit the air like thunder.

Ada’s breath stopped.

Daniel froze completely.

Sophia looked down, tears forming in her eyes.

“There was someone else in your life… even before the accident.”

She raised her eyes slowly.

“And she was the one you truly loved first.”

A heavy silence filled the hospital corridor.

Ada’s heart began to race.

Because suddenly…

She was no longer sure which truth hurt more.

The past… or what was about to be revealed next.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 4 — The Woman in the Rain

The thunder roared loudly.

Ada’s heart pounded as she stared at the woman standing across the street.

The woman wore a white hospital gown, soaked completely by the rain.

And her eyes…

They were fixed on Daniel.

“Daniel…” Ada whispered shakily. “Is that her?”

Daniel turned around slowly.

The moment he saw the woman, his body froze.

“Sophia…”

Sophia began walking toward them slowly, barefoot on the wet road.

Daniel rushed forward immediately.

“Sophia! What are you doing here? The hospital said you disappeared!”

But Sophia did not answer.

She only stared at him with cold, empty eyes.

Then suddenly, she looked at Ada.

And smiled.

Not a normal smile.

A painful, broken smile.

Ada felt chills run through her body.

“Sophia,” Daniel said gently, trying to hold her hand. “Please say something.”

Sophia finally spoke softly.

“You replaced me so quickly.”

Daniel’s face filled with guilt.

“No… it’s not like that.”

Sophia laughed weakly.

“For two years, I fought to wake up… because of you.”

Tears rolled down Daniel’s face.

“I never stopped caring about you.”

Sophia looked deeply into his eyes.

“Then why does your heart belong to someone else now?”

Silence.

Heavy silence.

Ada stepped back slowly, her chest hurting badly.

She suddenly felt like a stranger standing between two wounded hearts.

Sophia turned toward Ada again.

“I don’t hate you,” she said softly. “Love simply came at the wrong time.”

Then without warning, Sophia collapsed.

“Sophia!” Daniel shouted, catching her before she hit the ground.

Her breathing became weak.

Very weak.

The ambulance arrived minutes later.

At the hospital, Daniel sat outside the emergency room, shaking with fear.

Ada stood beside him quietly.

Then the doctor finally came out.

His face looked serious.

“There’s something you both need to know…”

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 3 — The Truth He Couldn’t Escape

Ada walked quickly through the rain, tears mixing with the water on her face.

“Ada, wait!” Daniel shouted behind her.

But she refused to stop.

“How could you lie to me?” she cried.

Daniel finally caught up to her and held her hand gently.

“I didn’t lie,” he said painfully. “I just… didn’t know how to explain.”

Ada pulled her hand away.

“You should have told me the truth from the beginning.”

Daniel lowered his head.

“My wife has been in a coma for almost two years,” he said quietly.

Ada froze.

Daniel continued slowly, his voice heavy with pain.

“The accident changed everything. Since then, I’ve been living like a man trapped between life and sadness.”

Ada’s anger slowly faded.

“She woke up today?” she asked softly.

Daniel nodded.

“But she doesn’t even remember me anymore.”

Silence filled the rainy street.

Ada looked into Daniel’s eyes and finally saw the deep loneliness hidden inside him.

Not the loneliness of a bad man.

The loneliness of someone tired of hurting.

“I never planned to fall for you,” Daniel admitted. “But meeting you made me feel alive again.”

Ada’s heart beat painfully fast.

Because the truth was…

She had already fallen for him too.

Suddenly, Daniel’s phone rang again.

This time, he answered immediately.

His face turned pale.

“What?!”

Ada became scared. “What happened?”

Daniel slowly lowered the phone.

His voice shook.

“She’s gone.”

Ada covered her mouth in shock.

“The hospital said… my wife just disappeared.”

Far away, under the dark rain…

A woman stood silently across the street watching them.

And when lightning flashed…

Ada realized the woman was staring directly at Daniel.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 2 — The Secret in Daniel’s Heart

The car finally stopped in front of a small restaurant.

Daniel smiled softly. “You should eat something.”

Ada felt shy. “I don’t want to stress you.”

“You’re not,” Daniel replied gently.

They entered the warm restaurant while the rain continued outside. Ada ate slowly, trying not to look too hungry, but Daniel noticed anyway.

“You haven’t eaten since morning, right?” he asked.

Ada looked down quietly.

Daniel pushed a glass of juice toward her. “It’s okay. Life gets hard sometimes.”

For a moment, Ada felt seen… understood.

After dinner, Daniel offered to take her home.

During the drive, they laughed and talked like old friends. Ada had never met someone so calm and caring before.

When they finally reached her street, Daniel parked the car.

“I enjoyed today,” he said.

Ada smiled softly. “Me too.”

There was silence for a few seconds.

Then Daniel’s phone suddenly rang.

He looked at the screen and his face changed immediately.

The warmth in his eyes disappeared.

Ada noticed.

“Aren’t you going to answer it?” she asked softly.

Daniel quickly declined the call.

But seconds later, another message entered his phone.

Ada accidentally glanced at the screen.

Her smile faded instantly.

The message read:

“Your wife is awake again. She keeps asking for you.”

Ada froze.

Wife?

Her heart dropped painfully.

Daniel quickly locked the phone, but it was already too late.

Tears gathered in Ada’s eyes as she opened the car door slowly.

“You’re married?” she whispered.

Daniel looked broken.

“It’s… complicated.”

But Ada was already stepping out into the cold rain again.

And this time…

The rain hurt more than before.

Beneath the Rainy Sky

Episode 1 — The Girl at the Bus Stop

The rain fell heavily in the busy city of Lagos. People ran everywhere with bags over their heads, trying not to get soaked.

Ada stood quietly at the bus stop, hugging her old handbag tightly. Her slippers were wet, and her stomach growled softly. She had just lost her job that morning and did not even have enough money for transport home.

She wiped the tears from her face quickly when she noticed a black car stopping beside her.

The car window rolled down slowly.

A handsome young man leaned slightly toward her.

“Excuse me,” he said gently. “Are you okay?”

Ada looked away immediately. “I’m fine.”

But she was not fine.

The young man noticed her shaking hands and the sadness hiding inside her eyes.

“I’m Daniel,” he said softly. “Please, let me help you.”

Ada hesitated. Her mother had always warned her not to trust strangers. But the rain became heavier, and she was already freezing.

Daniel stepped out of the car with an umbrella and covered her from the rain.

At that moment, Ada felt something strange in her heart.

Not fear.

Comfort.

She entered the car quietly.

As they drove through the wet streets, soft music played inside the car. For the first time that day, Ada smiled a little.

Daniel glanced at her and smiled too.

“You have a beautiful smile,” he said.

Ada’s cheeks turned red.

Nobody had said something kind to her in a very long time.

But unknown to Ada, Daniel was hiding a painful secret…

And that secret was about to change both their lives forever.

Married to a Stranger 😨💔

Episode 4: The Final Secret

Chioma stared at the phone in Emeka’s trembling hand.

Another woman was calling.

Not the first woman.

Another one.

Her chest tightened.

“How many?” she whispered.

Emeka stayed silent.

That silence said everything.

Chioma stepped backward slowly like she no longer recognized the man standing before her.

“Three years,” she said painfully. “Three years I defended you. Loved you. Trusted you.”

Emeka tried to move closer.

“I was going to end it—”

“Stop.” Her voice became cold.

For the first time, Emeka looked afraid.

Not afraid of losing the marriage.

Afraid because the mask had fallen off completely.

Chioma removed her wedding ring slowly.

“I don’t hate you,” she said.

“That would be easier.”

Then she placed the ring in his hand.

“But I refuse to keep suffering beside someone who keeps choosing lies.”

Emeka’s eyes filled with panic.

“Please don’t leave.”

But Chioma was already walking away.

This time, she didn’t look back.

And for the first time in years…

She finally felt free.
