CRS Commissioner for Works Highlights Ongoing and Completed Road Projects in Cross River State

The CRS Commissioner for Works, Hon. Pius Ankpo Edet, highlighted the ongoing and completed road projects in the three senatorial districts of CRS during a one-day budget consultative forum at the Metropolitan Hotel in Calabar.

During his presentation, Hon. Pius Ankpo emphasized the numerous road projects initiated by the current administration, stating the project status and challenges faced.

According to Hon. Pius, quality roads remain a priority for this administration, hence the delay in completion of some projects due to the different stages in ensuring long-lasting roads projects.

Security is the primary responsibility of any responsible government, and providing an enabling environment for security personnel will enhance productivity and boost their morale, thus the construction of roads and infrastructure for all security outfits in the state said Hon Pius

CRS Commissioner for Works Expresses Sympathy with Family Over Tragic Loss in Big Iwuru Truck Accident

The Energetic CRS Honourable Commissioner for Works, Hon Pius Ankpo Edet, has expressed profound condolences to the grieving families who suffered a tragic loss yesterday in a fatal accident involving a truck in Big Iwuru, Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State that resulted in the loss of three lives, including a father and son

In a statement to the press in CALABAR, Hon. Pius depicted the incident as more distressing than a thousand knife stabs, underscoring the immense sorrow the sudden loss has brought upon the family and the entire community of Big Iwuru

According to him, he hails from AKAMKPA/BIASE federal constituency, and thus, whatever affects Biase also affects him directly, necessitating his intervention to lend a voice to the bereaved in their sad moments

I hereby issue a call to action to truck companies, urging them to provide their drivers with thorough training and ensure they possess the requisite licenses to operate on major roads, and while accidents can be unpredictable, a substantial number of accidents could be prevented if drivers received proper training, encompassing both driving skills and the application of safety measures said Hon Ankpo

This is an irreparable loss and my thoughts are with the grieving family during this trying time of unforeseen heartache and I pray that God grants them the courage to withstand this colossal loss he stated

The Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi, has officially commissioned the Amajoba Town Hall in Abanwan Community, Erei South, Biase Local Government Area.

AMAJOBA VILLAGE IN ABAWAN COMMUNITY CROWNS HON. EKUMA NGWU JP AS EWUWUN I OF AMAJOBA

The people of Amajoba Village in Abanwan Community, Erei South, Biase Local Government Area, have crowned the Vice Chairman of Biase LGA, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu JP, as Onun Ewuwun I of Amajoba.

Speaking during the coronation ceremony, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu JP commended the people of Amajoba for their unity, love, and togetherness, urging them to continue nurturing these virtues as the strength of their community.

He further described Rt. Hon. Alex Ukam, Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC), Cross River State, as his political mentor and source of guidance at all levels.

HON. EKUMA NGWU JP DONATES ₦3 MILLION, AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN AMAJORBA COMMUNITY

The Vice Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu JP, has donated the sum of ₦3 million and launched a scholarship scheme for university students in Amajorba Community, Abanwan, Erei South Ward, Biase LGA. The initiative is targeted at an Educational Welfare Trust Fund, to support the academic pursuits of indigenes of the community.

This laudable gesture was announced during the commissioning of the Amajorba Town Hall, an event that also coincided with his chieftaincy coronation in the community.

In his remarks, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu JP expressed profound appreciation to the people of Amajoba—both the elderly and the youth—for their unwavering support in bestowing on him the prestigious chieftaincy title, Ewuwun I of Amajorba (meaning The Star of Amajorba). He described the honour as a source of pride and unity for himself, his family, and the entire community.

The colourful ceremony attracted political dignitaries, traditional rulers, business stakeholders, women, men, and youths. The chieftaincy title was conferred on him in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of Amajorba Community in Abanwan, EREI South ward.

The Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi, has extended his warmest and heartfelt congratulations to (Prince) Edodi Ejekor on the joyous occasion of his 2025 birthday anniversary.

The Chairman described (Prince) Ejekor as a cosmopolitan gentleman of resilience and perseverance, noting his immense contributions in reshaping the political narrative of Abayong Ward since 2003 till date.

“Sincerely, you are a great gentleman with outstanding leadership qualities. You have personally changed the political story of Abayong Ward from 2003 to this very day. You remain a handsome, calculative, and highly respected politician,” the Chairman said.
