โ€œWe see government institutions doing the wrong thing and telling people to go to court. When a thief tells you to go to court, just know that his brother is the judge.โ€- former President, Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has decried the level of decadence in some government institutions and the new culture of asking their critics to go to court when they are called out for doing something perceived to be wrong.

While speaking at a public event recently, the former President stated that when a โ€˜โ€™thiefโ€™โ€™ asks you to go to court, it invariably means that thejudge who is to rule on the matter is most likely his or her brother and would most definitely rule in their favor.

APC chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, says he was at the Ladipo market to buy some spare parts for his car yesterday June 5 and that the the traders at the market mostly of Igbo extraction, tried to provoke him. Videos shared online showed the traders booing at him and calling him unprintable names. Social media was awash with reports that he was โ€˜โ€™beaten upโ€™ by the traders.

In a video he shared online this afternoon, Igbokwe denied the claims. He said no one be@t him up. He went further to say that he they had tried to attack him, the market may be closed for one year. According to him, Lagos is not South East.

N36M fraud: Court reserves ruling on Blessing CEOโ€™s bail application

Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, has reserved ruling on the bail application filed by popular social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, better known as Blessing CEO.

The ruling was deferred till Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Blessing CEO is facing a two-count charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing to the tune of N36 million.

She was arraigned on May 15, 2026, over allegations that she obtained the sum from a petitioner under false pretence of leasing a property in Lekki, Lagos.

The matter was adjourned to June 5 for hearing of her bail application, but after arguments from both the prosecution and defence, Justice Dipeolu reserved ruling for next Tuesday.

FCT police arrest suspected k!dnappers in viral video wearing military camourflage and brandishing AK-47 rifles

The FCT police command have arrested suspected k!dnappers seen in a viral video openly brandishing AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and walkie-talkies, while dressed in military camouflage.

Confirming their arrest to newsmen, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, said immediately he received the viral video and pictures, he directed a detailed forensic analysis into the origin of the content and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects.

Sanusi mentioned that following digital forensic analysis and actionable intelligence, he directed operatives of the FCT Police VCRU Sector 5 and personnel from Zuba Division, led by the DPO, CSP Ogu Caleb Ikechukwu, on a coordinated operation at Runji Village, Zuba, on May 25 at about 3:22am, where three suspects featured in the videos were arrested at their hideout.

He gave the names of the suspects as Umar Babangida, 25 years old; Adamu Yeti, 22 years old; and Yahaya Idris, 24 years old, all residents of Rijana, Kaduna State.

The police boss said investigations revealed that the suspects had previously been in possession of the AK-47 rifles, which were obtained from their gang leader identified only as โ€œEscoโ€ from Rijana, Kaduna State who is currently at large.

He mentioned that further investigations also led to the recovery of additional videos and photographs from the suspectsโ€™ mobile phones showing them dressed in military camouflage while brandishing AK-47 rifles and carrying walkie-talkies.

The suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend Esco the gang leader and other members of the gang who are at large and recover the fi****ms.
