CDCFIB Releases Names of Successful Applicants, Announces Screening for Paramilitary Recruitment

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released the names of successful candidates who participated in the November 2025 Computer-Based Test (CBT) for its ongoing 2024/2025 paramilitary recruitment exercise.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Secretary to the Board, retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jibril.

According to the statement, candidates who successfully passed the CBT stage are to proceed to the next phase of the recruitment process, which includes physical screening and document verification.

The recruitment exercise covers key paramilitary agencies under the board, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the CDCFIB.

Jibril disclosed that applicants who sat for the CBT in November 2025 are required to visit the board’s official recruitment portal between June 15 and June 20 to confirm their application status.

“Applicants are required to log in using the application number generated at the time of initial registration,” he stated.

He further explained that shortlisted candidates must upload their credentials and select a preferred date and venue for the physical screening exercise through the portal.

The CDCFIB secretary urged all applicants to carefully adhere to the instructions provided on the recruitment platform to avoid disqualification.

Reiterating the board’s stance on transparency, Jibril emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and warned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters.

“The recruitment exercise remains absolutely free. Applicants should not pay any money to individuals or groups claiming to assist with shortlisting, screening venue allocation, document upload, or final selection,” he cautioned.

He also advised members of the public to disregard fake recruitment messages, fraudulent websites, and unauthorized agents posing as representatives of the board.

“All official updates regarding the recruitment process will be communicated solely through the CDCFIB recruitment portal and approved official channels,” he added.

Jibril reassured Nigerians that the board remains committed to conducting a transparent, credible, and merit-based recruitment process in line with established guidelines and best practices.

The announcement has sparked reactions among applicants nationwide, many of whom have taken to social media to express anticipation and anxiety ahead of the screening stage.

Security analysts have described the recruitment exercise as critical to strengthening the operational capacity of Nigeria’s paramilitary services amid ongoing security challenges across the country.

As the screening phase approaches, successful candidates are advised to prepare all required documents and ensure strict compliance with guidelines to enhance their chances of final selection.

2027: No Tinubu Endorsement Yet, Lagos APC Race Still Open — Jandor

Former Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has dismissed reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu has endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the preferred All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Lagos governorship election.

He insisted that there has been neither a presidential endorsement nor a formal declaration of interest from Hamzat.

Jandor, now an APC aspirant contesting for the same position, made this known during Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he pushed back against claims that the race had already been decided in Hamzat’s favour.

Speaking on Hamzat’s candidacy, Jandor said: “He hasn’t even said to us himself that he is running. He is the deputy governor of Lagos, qualified, with over 20 years of experience in that space.”

Reacting to speculations of a presidential endorsement, he maintained that aspirants like himself would be the first to know if such a decision had been taken.

“No, the President hasn’t endorsed anyone. I am an aspirant, and we are a few people also gunning for this. We will be the first set of people to know if there is anything like that because communication will come,” he said.

Jandor further noted that the APC has not indicated any plan for a consensus arrangement, stressing that the party is currently leaning towards direct primaries.

APC Primaries Still Uncertain

The former PDP chieftain emphasised that the mode of primary election would play a critical role in determining the eventual candidate, noting that a transparent process would allow party members to freely choose their preferred flagbearer.

According to him, ongoing consultations within the party suggest a growing preference for direct primaries, a system that allows all registered party members to participate in the selection process.

He argued that such an approach would strengthen internal democracy and reduce the influence of political imposition.

Political observers say the Lagos APC governorship race is likely to intensify in the coming months as more aspirants signal interest ahead of 2027.

MUSLIMS IN ONDO SEEK INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE, URGE AIYEDATIWA TO BALANCE POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS

Muslim stakeholders in Ondo State have called on Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to ensure greater inclusiveness in political appointments, despite commending his administration for ongoing developmental strides across the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Chief Adanlawo Taofeeq Olabode, State Treasurer of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO), praised the governor’s leadership since assuming office, highlighting achievements in infrastructure, security, and public service delivery.

He noted that road projects in Akure and along the Ore–Okitipupa corridor, as well as progress toward the Ondo State Deep Sea Port, have demonstrated the administration’s commitment to development. He also cited improvements in healthcare services and enhanced security operations through the Amotekun Corps as key milestones.

According to him, the consistent payment of salaries and overall stability in governance further reflect a government focused on delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

However, Chief Olabode expressed concern over what he described as the underrepresentation of Muslims in critical government positions, despite their significant population in the state, estimated between 35 and 45 percent.

He specifically pointed to the offices of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Senior Special Assistants (SSA), and Special Assistants (SA), where he said Muslim representation remains limited.

“Our appeal is rooted in fairness and the need for inclusive governance,” he said. “We respectfully urge His Excellency to ensure that qualified Muslims are adequately represented, particularly in SSA and SA positions, where we propose a 30 to 40 percent allocation.”

Olabode emphasized that inclusive governance would not only promote unity but also strengthen public trust and foster a sense of belonging among all groups in the state.

He added that equitable representation is vital for sustaining peace and cooperation in a diverse society like Ondo State.

“Inclusive government is the foundation of a stronger and more united Ondo State. Every group deserves to feel seen, heard, and represented,” he stated.
