Took a very long break from social media but I’m back now and I apologize for my absence 😅
Today we’re going to be differentiating between needs and wants.
Needs are essential items required for survival and basic functioning (food, shelter, basic healthcare, utilities). Wants are non-essential desires that improve life but are not necessary for survival
Needs can sometimes masquerade as wants (e.g., needing a phone for work but wanting the newest iPhone)
Understanding this difference is critical for financial health, helping to create and stick to a budget, and ensuring that necessities are covered before discretionary spending.
Note: everyone’s needs and wants differ considering the nature of their work for example a photographer’s basic need for his job is a camera whereas for an office worker he may just want it for whatever reason. So watch your expenses closely, whatever you can survive without is a want and not a need.
