JUST IN: Wike has denied claims that he has endorsed any candidate for the Rivers State governorship election.

Speaking on the issue, Wike said the only political decision taken by his camp so far is to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He stressed that no governorship candidate has been chosen and warned politicians against thanking him for backing any party or candidate.

Wike described such claims as an indictment on him, noting that his own political party also has candidates in the race.

"When people come here and say we have chosen a candidate, it is an indictment on me when my own party has candidates too," Wike said.

He maintained that no decision has been made on the governorship contest and that the choice will be made at the appropriate time.

The statement has sparked fresh debate over the political direction of Rivers State ahead of the next election.
Some Rivers youths are begging him to decide who becomes the next governor of the state.
