🚀 DEXA Project Management Experience Recap (Days 1–7)
From Assigned Leader to Initiative Taker

I'm about to complete & receive my Certificate from the tuition free course taught by The Open University UK& TeamGantt on DEXA and it's been an amazing learning experience!

✅ I was officially assigned as Team Lead, to manage 117 team members during the training
✅ My responsibility? To support their learning journey, track their course completion, resolve issues, and keep the energy alive

But I didn’t stop there.

💡I took the initiative and went beyond the assignment:

I created a hands on team project from scratch, a mock website design task that divided the 117 teammates into two smaller groups.
We used TeamGantt to track milestones, assign roles, and practice real project ex*****on.

Why? Because I believe people learn more by doing, not just watching videos.

📚 What I explored in Days 1–7:
🔹 Project management basics & tools
🔹 Stakeholder mapping & engagement
🔹 Ethical decision-making in team environments
🔹 Building project communication & structure
🔹 Hands-on team building & accountability tracking

🎯 What this experience taught me:
Leadership isn’t about shouting instructions.
It’s about showing initiative, staying organized, and making sure nobody’s left behind.

😮‍💨 No one saw me watching 3 hours of YouTube daily…

Just to figure out how to connect different tools with one single scenario on Make or one zap using Zapier .

No one clapped when I stayed up late breaking workflows…
And rebuilding them again till they finally made sense.

You see the polished mock project now.
You see the confidence.
You see the tools I’ve mastered.

But what you didn’t see?

📺 Countless hours studying HubSpot, Zapier, Make.com, and Zoho CRM
🔁 Repeating the same steps till the automation actually worked
🧠 Taking notes, testing flows, documenting each use case
💥 Failing silently. And trying again anyway.

💭 What started as curiosity turned into a habit:
“Let me figure this thing out myself.”

And now?

I’ve built end-to-end customer support systems using:

🥰🥰From My Parent’s Shop to Building CRMs — My Journey Wasn’t Random

I didn’t grow up designing automations.
I wasn’t the techy kid with five laptops and a coding dream.

I grew up in my parents’ shop, waking up early, helping with stock, dealing with tired customers, and being on my feet all day.
No training. No onboarding. Just raw experience.

But I didn’t realize then that I was learning something powerful...

🛒 How to deal with pressure.
🗣️ How to listen, really listen, to people.
🔁 How to manage repeat processes and solve new problems on the spot.
😤 How to stay calm when everything feels chaotic.

That was my first crash course in customer support, process improvement, and workflow thinking.

Years later, I discovered tools like HubSpot, Zoho CRM, Zapier, Make.com, Intercom, and Asana, and something clicked. I wasn’t starting from zero.

I was just adding tech to what I already knew how to do.

So, if you’re sitting there thinking:
“But I don’t have a tech background,”
I’m here to tell you — neither did I.

I didn’t wait for a company to hand me an opportunity.
I hired myself first.
I practiced. I failed. I learned. I showed up. I kept building.

I rolled up my sleeves and started learning, building, testing, documenting.

⚙️ I built real life mock projects using tools like:

Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, Zendesk, Intercom (for multi-channel support use cases)

Trello, Airtable, and Asana (for project management automation)

Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Loom (for scheduling, documenting, and presenting client-ready demos)

Every tool I use tells a story:
Of curiosity.
Of resilience.
Of someone who didn’t wait to be chosen, but decided to show up anyway.

💡 From Mindset Shifts to Leadership Tests

Day 2 into my internship at DEXA — and boom 💥
I’ve officially been selected as Team Lead for Team 6, Cohort 26.

Honestly? I was shocked when the announcement dropped.
Not because I didn’t do the work...
But because it reminded me that mindset shifts + consistent action = game-changing opportunities.

🧠 From Self Doubt to Showing Up

We were given some leadership tasks to carry out, and I showed up fully.
Not just to tick boxes, but to truly serve.

When I was asked:

“Why do you think you have what it takes to lead?”
I said:

> I’m a natural leader who thrives in collaborative spaces.
I lead with empathy, communicate clearly, stay organized, and stay calm under pressure.
I’m not just here to work, I’m here to help everyone grow and succeed.

And when they asked:

“Will you be available for your team?”
Absolutely.
Because leadership isn’t a title. It’s a responsibility.

👑 What Leadership Means to Me

Leadership isn’t about bossing people around or proving you're the smartest in the room.
To me, it’s about serving your team.
It’s about showing up when it matters.
It’s about making sure no one feels left behind.

Over the next 21 days, my goal is simple: To create a space where everyone on my team feels empowered to win, not just work.
