Behold the new Arugbá Ọ̀ṣun, a 9-Year-Old from Agbo’lé Ọba, Òṣogbo. The Arugbá Ọ̀ṣun is a virgin girl who carries a calabash of sacrifices to the Ọ̀ṣun River during the Ọ̀ṣun-Òṣogbo Festival.

She is a key figure in the annual Ọ̀ṣun-Òṣogbo Festival.

Osun Devotees Select New Arugba, Osunbunmi Emerges

Osun devotees in Osogbo have consulted the Ifa oracle to choose a new Arugba, the sacred calabash bearer, following the transition of the previous one. After the traditional divination process, a young girl named Osunbunmi was selected for the revered role.

As Arugba, Osunbunmi will lead the annual Osun-Osogbo Festival procession, carrying sacred offerings to the Osun River. Her emergence has been met with excitement and prayers, as devotees believe she has been divinely chosen to uphold this important spiritual and cultural tradition.

Tinubu to lead special FEC session in Buhari’s honour Thursday

The Federal Executive Council will on Thursday hold a special session to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement via his official X handle on Wednesday.

The presidential spokesman stated that the session will be presided over by President Tinubu.
