Enduring it is Black history.”
But history does not end with remembrance.
It demands reckoning.
Because where there was exploitation without compensation,
justice requires restitution.
The debt is due.

“Slavery is part of white history. The story of enduring it is Black history.”

That line from Malcolm-Jamal Warner is resonating strongly right now.

Some see it as a powerful reflection of history, while others view it as divisive.

The Cosby Show actor, who later became a poet, built his voice around addressing difficult topics, and even after his passing in 2025, his words continue to spark conversation.

The wealth remained.
The injustice remained.
