LAGOS STATE COMMENCES BASIC EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION ON JULY 2ND.

In a statement released to the press by the Lagos state Government, through the Ministry of basic and Secondary Education and the Lagos state Examination Board ,has announced the beginning of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination .The examination will take place from July 2nd ,to Tuesday July 8th ,2025.

The director of the state Examinations board, Mr.Orunsolu Adebayo said the examination is a crucial milestone for thousand of students transitioning from Junior Secondary school to Senior Secondary school. The Board is Commtted to ensuring a fair and seamless Examination process.

Nigeria Households earnings or less per month ,classified to be Poor and would be exempted from taxes.-----Oyedele.

If you are among Nigerians earnings 250,000or less monthly Tinubu administration has butter your bread.These category of Nigerians will be free from income taxes under new taxes laws signed in to Law on Thursday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Oyedele made this disclosure on channel Television's Politics today shortly after the President signed the Bills into laws on Thursday

The new laws is aiming to stimulate economic activity and track evaders while protecting businesses and ensuring the government doesn't tax poverty.

Oyedele explained that house holds earning #250,000,or less per month are classified as poor and could not pay tax.
"How can anyone earnings #30,000 monthly survive?
We propose that those earnings up to annually including allowances should be exempted from tax"

"We come up with a or per two people working in a household of five .If the earnings are about they can take care of themselves without thinking of having luxury ,but at least they will be able to take care of themselves. They are poor, and they shouldn't pay taxes "Oyedele remarked.

The tax helm man noted that about 5% of the Nigerian population earns 1.8 million to
2million per month ,and their tax won't be Zero ,It would be reduced to what they Currently pay.

"This tax law will not give you cash in your pocket ,but at least ,it won't take your cash away if you are poor. "Oyedele added.

The new laws, take effect from January 2026,providing relief to law income earners,and providing economic growth.

THE CONTROVERSIAL TAX BILLS SING INTO LAW BY PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday sign in to law four groundbreaking tax reform bills that will transform Nigeria fiscal and revenue framework.

These bills are,the Nigeria tax bill,the Nigeria tax administration bill, The Nigeria Revenue Board (Establishment )bills,were passed by the National Assembly after extensive consultations with various interest groups and stakeholders.

This historical action of Presidential assent to the bills at the Presidential Villa ,Abuja,will be witnessed by the Senate President, Speaker House of Representative, Senate Majority leader House Majority leader ,Chairman of the Senate House Committee in finance and his counterparts, and many high ranking officers in the Presdency.

When signed into law ,and become operational, they are expected to significantly transform tax administration in the country. One of the four Bills is the Nigeria Tax Bill,which aims to consolidiate Nigeria's fragmented Tax laws into a harmonised statute.

However, the bill will be a catalyst for reduction tax payer compliances burdens,and create a more predictable fiscal environment.

The second bill,the Nigeria Tax Administration Bill will establish a uniform legal and operational framework for tax administration across Federal, state,and local governments.

The Nigeria Revenue Service(Establishment )Bill,the third in the series repealed the current Federal Inland Revenue Services Act and creates a more autonomous and performance-drive national revenue.

PENCOM INCREACES MONTHLY PENSION PAYMENTS TO RETIREES .

National Pencom commission (PENCOM)has launched Pencom Boost 1.0 an initiative under the contributory pension scheme. (CPS)aimed at aiding the payment of the increment approved to the monthly pension payments to the retirees,with the total launched monthly payments increase from #8.5 billion ,to 11.9 billions,effective June .

This was made known by the Director General of Pencom Ms Omoloala Oloworaran,at the commission's second quarter Media briefing in Lagos. She noted that the increase would benefit over 233,000 retirees depending on their Retirement Savings Account (RSA)balance.

"We are introducing Pension Boost 1.0 .This is news every retiree have been waiting for ."Effective this month ,total monthly ,pension payments under this CPCwill rise from #8.5 to 11.9 billions .This will directly benefits over 233,000 retirees depending on their pension account balance.

"The D.G.described the initiative as a strategic leap made possible by strong RSA investment and bold economic reformsunder the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is a token gesture, it is a result of sound investment reforms and a visionary framework for pension enhancement.

It is driven by our newly modified standard pension enhancement template, a transparent structure that allows upward pension adjustments as investment returns increase. This is just the beginning. "Retirating Pencom's Vission ,Oloworaran said ,the commission is focused on building a transparent, inclusive and resilent pension system.

"We are restoring faith in retirement. We are rewarding work ,with diginity, ".She also issues a warning ,to defaulting employers and complacent pension operators.

"To employers with the pension remittances, your grace period is over.To operators who remains complacent, there will be consequences. And to every Nigerian workers ,we see you ,we hear you,and we will protect your future. PRESIDENT TINUBU CONFERS NATIONAL HONOURS ON SOME NIGERIANS, PROF.WOLE SOYINKA NOW CONFERS WITH GROUND COMMANDER OF NIGER.(GCON)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,has confered national honours on several Nigerians, Including Nobel laureate Prof.Wole Soyinka ,the slain environmental activist Ken Karo Wiwa,and others.

This was announced on Thursday, at the Joint session of his address to the National Assembly.
These were done in recognition of the recipients' unwearing contributions ,and commitment to democracy, justice,press freedom, and national development.

Prof Wole Soyinka was decorated with the Nigeria's seems_highest national honour.Grand Commander of the Niger.(GCON).
Others were awarded various honours su h as:
Commander of the order of Niger.(CON)Officer of the order of the Niger.(OON),and Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR)
