An admonition unto Children.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

Yet if any man fall through weakness, despair not; for we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous, who pleadeth on our behalf. Let not sin have dominion over you, neither give place unto the desires of the flesh; but walk in the light, as He is in the light.

Keep your hearts with all diligence, and let your lives reflect the righteousness of Him that hath called you. For though grace aboundeth, it is not a license to continue in sin, but a call unto holiness.

As it is written: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father…”— 1 John 2:1

Abide in Him, that ye may stand blameless. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Unto the Saints in every place.

I Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, unto the saints called by the Lord in every place I write: grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father.

Be it known unto you, that the path of life is not without trial; for the souls of the disciples are strengthened through many tribulations. Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.

For we are called, not only to believe on Christ, but also to suffer for His name’s sake. Therefore give all diligence, that your faith fail not in the day of adversity. Endure hardness, as good soldiers of Jesus Christ, pressing on with patience and steadfastness.

As it is written: “We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” — Acts 14:22

Hold fast therefore unto the end, that ye may obtain the crown of life. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

A charge concerning songs.

Paul a servant of Jesus Christ unto the professed saints in the churches, according to the former things I write: let your songs be holy, and your melodies seasoned with grace.

For music is not a light matter, but a vessel that carrieth spirit and doctrine. Therefore take heed unto that which entereth your ears, for corrupt sounds stir the flesh, but sacred songs lift the soul unto God. Let your worship be with understanding, and your praise with reverence.

”As it is written: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs… — Ephesians 5:19

Choose that which edifieth, that your heart be kept pure before the Lord.

A Charge of Steadfastness unto the Elders

I Paul, unto the elders of the church write I: peace, strength, and anointing be multiplied unto you through the abundance of the grace of God.

Beloved, consider the times, for they are perilous, and the burden of oversight hath grown heavy. Many look unto you for guidance, yet the hearts of some wax faint under pressure, and the cares of this world seek to draw you away from your holy calling.

Be not weary in well doing, neither give place unto discouragement. Feed the flock of God with diligence, not by constraint, but willingly; being examples unto the believers in word and in deed. For the adversary desireth to scatter the sheep by striking the shepherd.

As it is written: “Feed the flock of God which is among you… being ensamples to the flock.” — 1 Peter 5:2–3

Stand therefore in truth, with patience and wisdom, that ye may finish your course with joy. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
