But Nkubi and his wife?
They kept posting their little daughter back-to-back, all for Facebook content and engagement. They didn’t even try to protect her identity or give her a chance to grow before throwing her out to online trolls.
Because of that, today a woman had the audacity to post her picture and call her “Labubu.”
Let me break it down for those who don’t know:
Labubu is an old folklore cartoon character, ugly, scary, and monstrous. Calling a child that name is not just mean it’s emotional abuse.
It's like calling her a demon.
It’s heartbreaking to even type this.
And the worst part?
It wasn’t men dropping these insults… it was women. Fellow women, dragging a child like this just because of her looks.💔
The other day, Mrs Nkubi posted a simple “Get Ready With Me” (GRWM) video, talking about her hope and prayers that her daughter would one day be on Vogue Magazine.
But the comment section?
Messyyy!
So full of hate and negativity. And guess where most of the comments came from? Women.
Some of these women:
Are not married yet.
Some don’t even know they can’t bear children.
Some are married but haven’t been able to conceive.
Some have children already but have forgotten the struggles they once faced.
In a world where we should be encouraging one another and protecting innocent children, people now find satisfaction in tearing others down, especially someone who cannot defend herself.💔
Let me be clear, I don’t support the insults. I don’t support body shaming, mockery, or trolling of any kind.
But at the same time… I strongly believe that the posting of this child should reduce. Please. 🙏
She’s still too young. Let her grow in peace. Let her develop her confidence away from the eyes of social media.
Because here’s the bitter truth, speople will always talk when they see something to talk about. Hoping that “they will get tired one day” is wishful thinking.
They won’t stop.
But what you can do as parents is take her out of that space and give her time to blossom privately. Let her grow in love, not in the middle of harsh opinions and unnecessary attention.
Please, this child deserves better than this kind of public exposure. 💔
