THE PREGNANT TEENAGER
EPISODE 6
The next morning, I woke up very early and wore my school uniform. I needed to act like I was preparing for school so nobody would suspect anything. I was about to leave my room when suddenly my body changed. I rushed into the toilet as vomit gushed out of my mouth. It didn’t stop—I kept vomiting for almost 5 minutes.
It was strange. “I just hope I’m not pregnant,” I said to myself.
I became so weak that I couldn’t walk properly, but I knew I had to continue the journey to seek THE WHITE PEACE. I couldn’t stop now. I rushed out of my room and hurried down the stairs when I saw Chioma blocking my way.
“Leave the way, I’m late for school,” I said to her.
“I don’t know what you’re up to lately, but soon I will find out,” Chioma replied.
“Is that supposed to be a threat? Wow! You should keep working on that if you want to get a PhD in threatening people,” I replied, trying to push her aside.
“You have no idea what I can do. Don’t mess with me,” she warned.
“Don’t worry, I won’t mess with you. You’re my mother, right? I can’t mess with my mother,” I said, mocking her indirectly, but she didn’t understand what I meant.
Immediately she moved away, and I rushed outside where Taylor was already waiting in the car. I dashed in, and we drove off. Right away, I began changing into another dress, taking off my school uniform. I noticed Taylor glancing at my body through the small mirror in front of him.
“Hey Taylor, stop it!” I warned.
“Sorry, but you have an amazing body. I can’t take my eyes off you,” Taylor said.
“Thanks for the compliment, but this is not the time. I’m about to embark on a journey, so leave the sweet talk for later,” I told him.
When I finished changing, I moved to the front seat and exhaled deeply to calm myself down.
“I thought you were going to school,” Taylor asked, puzzled.
“No, Taylor. I’m going to find THE WHITE PEACE,” I replied.
“Oh, okay. Then buckle up, it’s going to be a very long drive,” he said.
I quickly texted my father, telling him I might not come back home that night. I lied that Claire was hosting a sleepover party and I needed to be there. He replied with a smiley and gave me permission to go.
I felt relieved. I also texted Claire, asking her to cover up for me if my father or Chioma called. She agreed. Suddenly, I felt like throwing up again. I told Taylor to stop the car, and I jumped out to vomit for almost 2 minutes. Taylor became worried.
I got back into the car, and we continued the journey. Taylor kept a sad face and refused to talk. I felt the strange silence.
“Taylor, what is it? Just say it. Don’t keep that sad face,” I said.
“How can you just give yourself to a boy, and now you’re pregnant?” Taylor scolded.
“Taylor, you have no right to tell me what to do. I can’t even remember what happened that night. I was so high, and I just woke up next to Felix,” I snapped back.
“Then you should stop taking drugs or drinking. You’re only 14! How can you be this wild?” he shouted.
“I do drugs because it’s fun and it calms me down. You have no idea what I go through in that house, so stop yelling at me!” I screamed.
After that, we both became quiet. We didn’t speak for hours until we arrived at a hospital far away from our city.
“What are we doing here?” I asked, confused.
“We’re going to check if you’re pregnant,” Taylor said, helping me out of the car.
“Oh my God, Taylor, you’re so stubborn,” I said.
“And so are you,” he replied.
We got into the hospital, and I ran some tests. We sat on a long bench at the reception, waiting for the results. I was weak, so I rested on Taylor’s shoulder. After a while, a nurse called us to the doctor’s office. We walked in quickly, curious to know the result.
“You’re Miss Lisa?” the doctor asked.
“Yes, and this is my driver,” I said, introducing Taylor.
“Well, the pregnancy test is negative. You are not pregnant. Besides, we also ran some other tests… You’re still a virgin,” the doctor revealed.
“How can that be?” I asked, confused.
“Are you serious? She’s still a virgin?” Taylor asked with a bright smile.
I wondered why he was so happy about it. I knew Taylor liked me, but I didn’t expect it to be this much. The doctor handed me the result, and we left. Taylor was cheerful as we continued our journey. We talked about many things, but he never wanted to discuss himself. Anytime I asked, he changed the topic. I didn’t want to argue again, so I left it.
I realised that the more time I spent with Taylor, the more I started changing into a better person. I began to love him and to understand how important it is to be kind to people. Taylor also felt the same way, but I didn’t know how our relationship could work, considering our ages.
Suddenly, I noticed my belly was growing larger. Every minute it grew bigger, and I became scared. This was another kind of witchcraft. I wasn’t pregnant, and I was still a virgin, so why was my belly growing this fast?
I felt something moving inside me. Taylor got scared, and we sped up the journey.
“Ahhhhhh, ahhhh!” I screamed, holding my swollen belly.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, holding my hands to comfort me, but it didn’t help.
“Something is moving inside me. Help me!” I cried.
The pain was unbearable. My abdomen felt like it was being broken with a hammer and chisel. My eyes turned red from constant tears.
---
After about an hour, we reached my mother’s clan. We parked the car by the roadside and entered the bush in search of THE WHITE PEACE.
We wandered in the bush for hours. My belly kept growing bigger. I was scared, and so was Taylor.
We walked in circles and always ended up back at the car. This went on for hours until I remembered the riddle: “You have eyes but cannot see. Look hard and you will see.”
I looked harder into the forest and then saw a path. Taylor and I followed it and soon arrived at a white house.
“Taylor, you have to wait for me here. Remember what Mercy, the old lady, said—only daughters of kings and queens are allowed to enter. You have to wait,” I reminded him.
“I understand. Please be safe. And remember, I love you,” Taylor replied.
“It’s too early to say that, Taylor,” I said.
“I know, but I have to say it before it’s too late,” he said, his eyes filled with tears.
“Thanks for supporting me. You’ve changed me in just a few hours,” I said, holding his face.
“You changed me too. I promise to tell you more about myself when all this is over,” Taylor replied.
I smiled at him and walked into the compound. Everywhere was quiet. I looked around, admiring the golden sculptures of women. I walked to the front door, trembling with fear. I knocked softly, and immediately the door opened.
I was scared, but I had to be brave to bring peace to my home and make my father happy again.
Inside the house was massive, furnished with white chairs and beautiful decorations. Suddenly, a lady appeared, calling my name.
“Lisa, daughter of Sandra Bullock Odinaka, what brings you here?” THE WHITE PEACE asked. She was frightening. Everything about her was white—her clothes, beads, and hair. Looking at her could almost blind you.
“I’m sorry to disturb you, but I’m looking for THE WHITE PEACE,” I stammered.
“I am THE WHITE PEACE,” she replied.
“Please, I need your help. My mother has been missing since I was born. I need your help to find her,” I said boldly.
“The one you seek is close to you. You just need to look harder,” she said.
“What do you mean? Please explain,” I asked.
“Sandra is in your house. She has been there all along. You must find her quickly, or you may lose her,” she replied.
“Oh no!” I exclaimed.
“My child, you come from a great royal family. Your star is so bright that it blinds even you. Do not let fear swallow you. Be brave, be strong, because a great battle lies ahead. But don’t worry, I will fortify you so that you will be unbreakable,” THE WHITE PEACE said.
“Thank you so much,” I said, bowing my head.
“But first, you must give me that beast growing in your belly, as a sacrifice,” she requested.
“What beast?” I asked, confused. She laughed loudly, almost rolling on the floor.
“My child, a beast is growing inside you. Your enemy put it there to bring shame to you and your father,” she said.
“She made you fall into a deep sleep at your party. She used cattle’s blood to invoke the beast inside you. Don’t you know she is the daughter of the devil? As long as you breathe, that beast will keep growing,” she added.
“Why would she do this to me, after causing my father and mother so much pain?” I asked as tears rolled down my face.
“You are the precious apple of your father’s eyes. She wants to destroy you. But don’t worry, you have come to the right place. She will not win,” she assured me.
At that moment, I remembered everything from that night. Felix wasn’t with me—it was her. She put me to bed, poured blood on me, and lured Felix to sleep next to me. I might be stubborn, but I wasn’t willing to lose my virginity at 14. Jesus Christ, what a wicked world.
THE WHITE PEACE fortified me, and my belly went back to normal. I felt stronger than ever, like I could carry ten people at once. I rushed out of the house.
Taylor was shocked to see my belly flat and my eyes clear. I didn’t say a word until we got into the car.
“Taylor, drive as fast as you can back home. I have to save my mother,” I said.
“Okay,” he replied as we sped off.
On the way, I told him everything THE WHITE PEACE had revealed. He was amazed. I was happy to have myself back, but I was also afraid my father would be heartbroken if he saw me like that.
-------------------
It was already late at night when we arrived home. I didn’t care about the lie I told about sleeping at Claire’s house. I just entered the house with Taylor following me to ensure my safety.
I rushed into my father’s room. He was asleep, but I woke him up. Shocked, he checked his watch—it was 11:45pm.
“Lisa, you came back this late? Do you know how dangerous it is?” he asked. I ignored his questions.
“Taylor, why didn’t you come back after dropping her at school?” my father asked.
“Sir, there’s a bigger problem,” Taylor replied.
“What problem?” my father asked, confused.
“You have to get up. Where is your wife, Chioma?” I asked.
“She should be in her room,” he replied.
“Let’s go, Father. Hurry!” I said.
“You know she doesn’t let anyone into her room,” he said. But I was determined, thinking I might find a clue about my mother’s location.
We rushed to Chioma’s room. When we opened the door, she wasn’t there. We searched everywhere, but nothing. I went straight to the wardrobe, hoping to find something that could lead us to my mother.
