Chest pain isn’t always a heart attack… but it’s never something to ignore.
Common Causes:
Heart-related: Heart attack, angina, pericarditis
Lung-related: Pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, pleurisy
Digestive: Acid reflux, gallbladder issues
Muscle/nerve: Muscle strain, costochondritis, anxiety
Signs it could be serious:
Crushing or squeezing pain in the chest
Pain radiating to the arm, neck, or jaw
Shortness of breath
Nausea, sweating, dizziness
What to Do:
Call emergency services immediately if the pain is severe or lasts more than a few minutes.
Stay calm, sit upright, and rest.
Don’t drive yourself to the hospital if you suspect a heart issue.
Chew an aspirin if advised and not allergic (in case of suspected heart attack).
Never self-diagnose. It’s better to get checked and be safe.
Your health is your wealth. Listen to your body.
