🚨 Thomas Partey has reportedly been denied entry into Canada over unresolved sxxual assault allegations, meaning he could miss Ghana’s World Cup opener against Panama. ❌🇬🇭

For years now, there has been no conviction and no final court verdict. Yet the consequences keep mounting.

The principle of justice is simple: innocent until proven guilty. But situations like this raise difficult questions about how allegations alone can affect a person’s career and opportunities long before a legal conclusion is reached.

Whatever the truth may be, it’s a sad situation to witness. Hopefully, the legal process reaches a clear and fair conclusion for everyone involved. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Yamal's 200 million euro value surpasses two World Cup host teams' squads

According to statistics, the 18-year-old Yamal is worth more than the total market value of two FIFA World Cup host national teams.

Currently, Yamal's market value has reached 200 million euros. The total market value of the entire Canadian team is only 198 million euros, and the total market value of Mexico, another FIFA World Cup host team, is only 191 million euros.

Therefore, Yamal's individual market value has already exceeded that of two host teams.

Man United unlock £100m by refinancing Glazer debt

Manchester United have refinanced the Glazer debt in a move that increases the club's borrowing by almost £100million.

The news comes as United continue to be linked with £80m-rated West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes amid reluctance at Old Trafford to match Manchester City's £120m bid for Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest.

It also follows intense speculation that some members of the Glazer family are looking to sell their stake in the club.

The refinancing package will increase United's overall financial debt to £728m, of which £485m dated back to the Glazers' leveraged takeover at Old Trafford in 2005.

The latter figure was split into two tranches, the largest of which was made up of £317m in senior secured notes originally issued in 2015 with a fixed interest rate of 3.79 per cent.

It was due to be repaid next year but United have been in talks with banks over refinancing it through the private sector.

The club confirmed in a filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday that they have secured a new loan worth £410m which covers the £317m debt and generates an extra £93m in cash for 'general corporate purposes'.

The filing, signed by co-chairman Joel Glazer, shows that the deadline to repay it has been extended until 2031, although United have agreed a higher rate of 5.36 per cent which is expected to cost the club an additional £9.7m-a-year in interest.

The extra money could feasibly be used to strengthen United's hand during what will be an expensive summer in the transfer market. The club also have access to £250m through a revolving credit facility after repaying £110m of it since April.

United have already signed Brazil World Cup midfielder Ederson from Atalanta in a deal worth up to £39m, and are in competition for Fernandes with a number of Europe's top clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.

West Ham will sell the 21-year-old Portuguese star following their relegation from the Premier League, but want a fee of around £80m.

That would be within United's budget but they are refusing to get into a bidding war over their No.1 target Anderson after City had a British record bid of £120m rejected by Forest.

United could also sign a third, cheaper midfielder as well as a left-back, forward, back-up goalkeeper and possibly a centre back.

Pogba: Mbappe is the 'best striker of his generation'

Paul Pogba has hailed Kylian Mbappe as the "best striker of his generation".

Mbappe is preparing to lead France out at the World Cup, but his form has come into question in the build-up to the tournament, having failed to score in both their friendlies this month.

Other doubts have stemmed from his performances for Real Madrid in 2025-26, with Los Blancos failing to win any trophies.

However, despite an injury-plagued second half to the season, Mbappe racked up 42 goals in all competitions (after the Club World Cup), more than any other LaLiga player.

He averaged a goal every 86.2 minutes, while his 36.4 expected goals (xG) and 209 shots were also more than any other player to feature in the Spanish top-flight.

And Pogba could not understand where the criticism of Mbappe has come from.

"Can you imagine me [saying] that he had a little difficult season, and this difficult season would be the best season ever for almost all the strikers," Pogba said.

"That's how good he is.

"For him to score 40 goals a year is a difficult season, so I don't know. I'm just saying, for me, it's not a bad season!

"He's the best striker of his generation. Period."

Another player who has particularly impressed Pogba is Bayern Munich's Michael Olise, who played a starring role in their Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal success.

Olise, who scored his first senior hat-trick in France's 3-1 win over Northern Ireland on Monday, ended the Bundesliga season with 34 goal involvements (15 goals, 19 assists), a new record for a winger since detailed Opta data collection began in the German top-flight in 2004-05.

Only team-mate Harry Kane (41) directly contributed to more Bundesliga goals than Olise, who also scored five goals and provided seven assists in 13 Champions League games.

"He's a player I've watched the most this year. I enjoy the way he plays, how smart he is," Pogba said of Olise.

"He's been one of the best players this season, if not the best. He plays simple, but simple is difficult.

"He does simple things at the right time – when to pass the ball, when to dribble, when to shoot. It makes him unpredictable."

Ousmane Dembele and Rayan Cherki are also expected to light up the World Cup for France after impressive individual campaigns, with the former winning Ligue 1 and the Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain, while Cherki lifted two trophies with Manchester City.

"You don't expect – they know what to do. He was there for the World Cup in 2018," Pogba said when asked about Dembele.

"He has won it before; he has experience, like Kylian. He's part of the old guys now! He knows what to do; he's definitely a big help for France."

On Cherki, he added: "Big talent, big guy – I love his football; it's like street football."

Bild: Neymar's family rents 12.5M euro Florida mansion for World Cup
According to Bild, as the Brazil national team is about to play its first match in this FIFA World Cup, the movements of Neymar and those around him have once again attracted public attention. Neymar's family and friends have rented a luxury villa in Florida, USA, planning to watch Brazil's FIFA World Cup matches together.

Brazil will face Morocco at the New York/New Jersey Stadium, officially beginning their FIFA World Cup campaign. However, there are still significant doubts as to whether the 34-year-old Neymar will be able to play in the first match. Previously, he has been troubled by a calf injury, and his physical condition is not yet fully clear.

The person who rented this luxury house is Neymar's father, Neymar-Dasilva-Santos. The villa is located in a high-end residential area in Florida, with a property value of approximately 12.5 million euros. It has 16 rooms, and the daily rent can be as high as 3,370 euros. It is about a 12-minute drive from the Disney World complex.

It is worth mentioning that some areas of this residential community adopt a Star Wars theme design, and even life-size models of the villain Darth Vader are placed inside. In addition, the villa is also equipped with entertainment facilities such as a game room, swimming pool, gym, basketball court, bowling alley, and video game arcade, making it quite luxurious.
