I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I love you. Every day with you is full of peace, warmth, and love. You have such a gentle way about you—your calmness brings so much comfort to everyone around you. When you wrap your little arms around me for a hug, I feel the love and care that shines through in everything you do.

The day I quǐt my nursing aid job at the hospital started like any other. I arrived early, the hum of fluorescent lights and the beeping of machines filling the halls. But something felt different as I tied on my scrubs. The exhăustion, both physǐcal and emøtiøtǐonal, had been pǐling up for months.

That morning, a pǎtient I had grown close to had pǎssed away, and I felt the familiar numbnêss set in. I moved from room to room, performing my duties, but my heart wasn’t in it anymore. I watched my coworkers rushing past, the weight of unspoken exhǎustion heavy in their eyes too. I realized I didn’t want to become that – someone too tired to care for themselves, let alone others.

During my lunch break, I sat in the staff room, staring at my colleagues and the resignation letter I had written weeks ago. It had been tucked in my bag, waiting for the right moment. Today was that day. I handed it to my supervisor, feeling a strange mix of guǐlt and relief. The hospital had been my second home, but I knew it was time to take care of myself, children and husband. Enjoy the beauty of life.

As I walked out of the building, the air felt lighter, like a burden had been lifted. I didn’t have a plan yet, but for the first time in a long time, I felt FREE!
