RUN TO FINISH IT
As True Christians living in this world, we must know that we have a destination after our sojourning here; as such, we are running a race.
Every believer has this full assurance that after the end of our journey here on earth, we are going to meet with our Creator to receive the reward for our labour and our deeds while we were on this planet.
Therefore, having this awareness, we should be conscious of our service to God, and our dealings with people. How is our life affecting others, is it negatively or positively?
What must I know as a Christian to run and finish well?
1. Salvation is by grace and not merit[works] or keeping the Laws - Ephesians 2:5-9
2. You need focus - Heaven is our goal, as such we must be focus and be fully prepared.
3. Count the cost - You must know that the road to heaven is rough, straight and narrow. You will surely need to overcome: shame, pain, reproach, mockery, rejection, trials and temptations, persecution etc...
4. You need to die to self and yield to the will of the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, He alone has the right path to our destination; if we avoid Him then we will surely miss the mark.
Yielding to the ministry of the Holy Spirit means surrendering your will and life to His leading and guidance. It involves acknowledging His authority and allowing Him to direct your thoughts, actions, and decisions. This active obedience allows the Holy Spirit to empower and guide you in your daily life, leading to spiritual growth and fruitfulness.
The Holy Spirit validates Jesus Christ in us and give us right of sonship.
His presence in our lives is governance and leadership
5. Your Lifestyle must portray Christ.
You can not please God in your former worldly lifestyle. If you find yourself going back to those things you left behind to follow Jesus Christ, then you must seek help immediately.
