Imagine what Anita did to Juliet today.....

Yesterday afternoon, Juliet's friend Anita came to visit.

The two girls were playing happily in the living room when Mommy brought them biscuits and juice.

Juliet quickly took one biscuit.

Anita took one too.

Then Juliet looked away for a few seconds.

When she looked back, all the biscuits were gone.

Juliet stared at the empty plate.

Anita smiled innocently.

Juliet blinked twice.

Anita, did you eat all of them?

Anita nodded proudly.

Yes. I was helping your mommy.

Helping her do what?

Helping her wash the plate.

Juliet looked at the clean empty plate and started laughing.

Then she ran to Mommy.

Mommy, next time please give my friend homework instead of biscuits!

Juliet and the Missing Bread

This afternoon Mommy bought a fresh loaf of bread and kept it in the kitchen.

A few hours later, she returned and noticed that almost half of the bread had disappeared.

She immediately called Juliet.

Juliet, did you eat this bread?

Juliet shook her head quickly.

No Mommy.

Mommy looked suspicious.

Then where did the bread go?

Juliet thought for a moment and replied,

Maybe it became tired of staying in the kitchen and ran away.

Mommy laughed.

Bread cannot run away.

Juliet nodded seriously.

Then somebody helped it.

Mommy started laughing harder.

A few minutes later, she found bread crumbs on Juliet's dress.

Juliet looked down and smiled.

Looks like the bread left evidence.

Mommy couldn't stop laughing.

Then Juliet added,

At least now we know the case is solved.

Juliet decided to stop going to school because of what she heard…

This afternoon, Juliet sat beside her mom looking very serious.

Her mom immediately became suspicious.

Whenever Juliet looked serious, something funny was usually coming.

Mommy asked what was wrong.

Juliet sighed deeply and announced that she had made an important decision.

Her mom asked what the decision was.

Juliet folded her arms proudly.

She said she would not be going to school again.

Mommy nearly dropped the vegetables she was cutting.

Not going to school again?

Juliet shook her head.

Yes

Mommy asked why.

Juliet explained that she had heard some school children and their teachers were kidnapped and decided that staying at home was the safest option.

Mommy tried not to laugh.

So your solution is to stop school?

Juliet nodded confidently.

Exactly.

No school.

No kidnapping.

Problem solved.

Mommy smiled.

Then who will become a doctor, teacher, lawyer, or pilot?

Juliet thought for a moment.

I will become a home manager.

Mommy laughed.

A home manager?

Juliet nodded.

Yes. I will manage the television, manage snacks, and manage sleeping.

Mommy burst into laughter.

Then she explained that being careful and staying safe does not mean hiding from life.

She told Juliet that schools take safety seriously and that parents, teachers, and communities all work together to protect children.

Juliet listened quietly.

Then she asked,

So you are saying I still have to go to school tomorrow?

Mommy nodded.

Yes.

Juliet sighed dramatically.

All this safety talk and I still have homework.

Just then Daddy entered the room and asked what was happening.

Mommy explained Juliet's new plan to retire from school.

Daddy laughed so hard he almost sat on the floor.

Juliet looked at him and said,

Don't laugh. I was trying to save transportation money too.

Now both Mommy and Daddy were laughing.

Finally Juliet smiled and said,

Fine. I will go to school.

But if they give us too much homework tomorrow, I will hold another family meeting.

The whole house exploded with laughter.
