🎭 Beyond the Mask of Tradition
What happens when "ancestral direction" becomes a "total misdirection"?
Our students took to the stage to perform a gripping tragicomedy that pulls back the curtain on the silent reality of FGM. Through a blend of heart-wrenching loss and the biting irony of social pressure, they portrayed a story where a body is treated like a "battlefield" rather than a sanctuary.
The play follows a mother's journey through the "damage on her soul" after losing her daughter to a practice meant to make her "belong". It serves as a stark reminder that we must stop "cutting her parts to prove she is a woman" and instead "make her whole and make her full".
The cycle started with a whisper of the past, but it ends with our voices today.
✨ Key Takeaways:
The Cost of Silence: FGM leads to "pain" and "regret" that can never be undone.
True Womanhood: It isn't found in a scar; it’s found in being "whole".
Our Responsibility: "It takes someone to stop it. That someone can be you".
