How did one tribe influence Yoruba AND Hausa at the same time?
Nupe was in the MIDDLE. Middle Niger.
To the south: Yoruba borrowed Nupe crowns, titles, and river gods.
To the north: Hausa borrowed Nupe words, horse saddles, and war tactics.
Nupe words are in Hausa dictionary today. Nupe river gods are in Yoruba Ifa.
They were the bridge. And nobody talks about them.

KWARARAFA.
Portuguese maps in 1500s show it. Kano Chronicle says Kwararafa invaded Kano in 1490s. Bornu says they fought them too.
But today, you won't find Kwararafa on any modern map.
Where did they go? Some say they became Jukun. Some say they split into Tiv and Idoma.

They never had a king. They had a council of elders — democracy before democracy.
When government said "We want Abuja," Gbagyi were moved with no compensation.
