We are still in month of April therefore the Easter celebration is still on going for me . Apart from the merriment and happiness about the death and resurrection of jesus christ , I decided to reflect on his death and resurrection what it has really done for us and humanity at large.
So these are the things I came up with
Before the coming of Jesus Christ, access to God the Father was limited and structured. In the Old Testament, people could not approach God freely because of sin and His holiness. Instead, they relied on priests especially the high priest who acted as mediators between God and the people. These priests would offer sacrifices on behalf of the people, entering into the sacred place (the Holy of Holies) only once a year to atone for sins. This showed that there was a barrier between humanity and God.
But everything changed through the sacrifice of Jesus.
When Jesus came, He became both the perfect sacrifice and the eternal High Priest. Unlike the priests of old who offered repeated sacrifices, Jesus offered Himself once and for all. His death on the cross paid the full price for sin, removing the separation that stood between us and God.
At the moment He died, the veil in the temple which symbolized the barrier between God and man was torn from top to bottom. This was not just a physical event; it was a spiritual declaration access to the Father is now open.
Through Jesus, we no longer need a human priest to stand between us and God. We can now come boldly, personally, and confidently into the presence of the Father. Our relationship with God is no longer distant or restricted it is direct and intimate.
Now, anyone who believes in Jesus has
Direct access to God in prayer
A personal relationship with the Father
Freedom from the old system of repeated sacrifices
Assurance that they are accepted through Christ
This is the beauty of the new covenant what was once restricted is now open. Through Jesus, we are no longer outsiders we are sons and daughters who can call God “Father.”
There is no more veil
There is no more limitations
We can see Jesus and have access to the father face to face
Jesus didn’t just show us the way to God he became the way, and through Him, the door is forever open.
