Dad, I still can’t believe you’re gone. I know you were suffering, but it still feels impossible to accept that I won’t see you or talk to you anymore. You left us too soon.
You kept telling me to play in the World Cup. Even when your health became worse before the tournament, I promised you that I would try to reach the final so you could watch me.
After every match, I waited for your message. Not receiving it made me realize how serious things had become.
We reached the final, but you couldn’t be there. I wanted to win the trophy and bring it home to you. I couldn’t do it, but every match meant so much to us.
We spoke every day and saw each other whenever we could. Now I don’t know what I’m going to do without you.
Football has been my whole life, but without you beside me, I have serious doubts about how much longer I can continue.
You were more than my father. You were my friend, my agent and the person who was there from the very beginning. You took me to training, watched every match and supported me through everything.
I’m going to miss you so much. But you will always be with me, especially in the way I raise my children, because I will teach them the same values you and Mom taught me.
Rest in peace, Dad. Watch over us from above, just as you always watched over us here.
Thank you for everything.
I love you, Dad. ❤️🕊️
