Title: Dorcas, the Beautiful Queen of the Village – Part 2
After peace returned to Umudim, Queen Dorcas continued ruling with love, wisdom, and courage. Her people admired her more than ever, and the song they sang for her became the sound of every celebration, every festival, and every happy moment in the village.

THE DAY THE RIVER WENT DRY
One hot afternoon, the villagers ran to the palace in panic.
“Your Majesty! The river… the river is drying up!” they cried.
Dorcas immediately went to see it herself. The great River Udene, which had always flowed with strength, was now thin and weak like a tired old man. Fish floated helplessly, and farmers feared that their crops would die.
Some villagers whispered in fear,
“This must be a curse.”
Others said,
“The spirits are angry with us!”
But Dorcas raised her hand and spoke with calm authority.
“No spirit is angry. This is a challenge we must face together.”
Her voice gave everyone courage.

THE JOURNEY TO THE SACRED HILL
Dorcas gathered the elders and wise men. She announced that she would climb the Sacred Hill — a place no queen had gone for many years. Legend said the hill guarded the secret of water.
The people begged her not to go alone.
“My queen, it is dangerous!”
But Dorcas smiled gently.
“I must do this for my people.”
She carried only a staff and a small calabash. As she walked, birds followed above her, and the villagers sang behind her to give her strength:

THE SPIRIT OF THE HILL
When Dorcas reached the top, a soft wind blew around her. The ground shimmered, and a glowing figure appeared — the Spirit of the Hill.
“Why have you come, Queen of Umudim?” the spirit asked.
Dorcas bowed respectfully.
“My people are suffering. The river is drying. I have come to seek wisdom, not for myself, but for all who trust in me.”
The spirit studied her heart and smiled.
“You are truly a queen. Many seek power, but you seek life for your people.”
He tapped the ground with his staff. The earth opened slightly, and fresh water burst out like a miracle, flowing down the hill toward the dying river.
“Return to your people,” the spirit said. “Tell them this: As long as your heart remains pure, water will never leave Umudim.”

THE RETURN OF THE RIVER
When Dorcas came down, the villagers gasped with joy — the river was flowing again, stronger and clearer than ever. Children jumped inside, women danced at the riverbank, and the men raised their hands in praise.
They surrounded Dorcas, singing with even more love:

Blessed by heaven oo!
Her heart brings life,
Her love ends strife!
Dorcas is a queen oo!”

Dorcas smiled humbly and said,
“This river flows not because of me, but because we are united.”
