EPISODE 5. The Billionaires Princess And Their Family Driver
SOPHIA HAS NOWHERE TO GO
Sophia stood at the entrance of the mansion with her suitcase in her hand.
Her eyes were filled with tears.
She looked at her mother one last time.
Her mother was crying too.
"My daughter, please don't leave us."
Sophia shook her head as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Mom, if I stay, I'll lose my baby. I can't let that happen."
Her mother stepped closer and held her hand.
"Sophia, please. Think about what you're doing."
"I have thought about it, Mom."
"But where will you go?"
Sophia looked away.
"I don't know."
Her mother broke down in tears.
"You are my daughter. I don't want you to leave this house like this."
Sophia hugged her.
"I'm sorry, Mom."
Her mother held her tightly.
"Please don't do this."
Sophia pulled away slowly.
"I have to."
She turned toward the door.
Her father stood there, watching her.
His face was hard.
"You've made your decision. Now, live with it."
Sophia stopped.
She turned around and looked at him.
"Dad..."
He said nothing.
Sophia wiped her tears.
"I pray one day you'll understand why I chose my child."
Her father looked away.
Sophia picked up her suitcase and walked out.
Her mother followed her to the entrance.
"Sophia!"
Sophia stopped.
Her mother rushed toward her.
"Sophia, please wait."
Sophia turned around.
Her mother looked around to make sure her husband wasn't watching closely.
Then she reached into her bag and brought out some money.
"Your father blocked your account. But I couldn't let you leave with nothing."
She held the money out to her.
"Take this."
Sophia stared at it.
Then she shook her head.
"No, Mom. I don't want to cause problems between you and Dad."
Her mother pushed the money into her hand.
"This isn't your father's money. It's mine."
Sophia looked at her mother.
"But Mom..."
"I saved it myself. Please take it."
Sophia's eyes filled with tears again.
"I don't want Dad to be angry with you."
Her mother held her face.
"Let him be angry with me. You are my daughter."
Sophia hugged her mother tightly.
"Thank you, Mom."
Her mother whispered in her ear.
"Please take care of yourself."
"I will."
"And take care of my grandchild."
Sophia nodded.
"I promise."
She wiped her tears, picked up her suitcase and walked away.
---
Sophia had no idea where she was going.
The money her mother gave her would only take her so far.
She decided to go to her aunt's house.
Maybe her aunt would allow her to stay for a few days.
When she arrived, she knocked on the door.
Her aunt opened it.
"Sophia?"
"Aunty..."
Her aunt looked at the suitcase in her hand.
"What happened?"
Sophia's eyes filled with tears.
"Dad asked me to leave."
Her aunt became quiet.
She allowed Sophia to come inside.
Sophia sat down and explained everything.
Her aunt listened.
When Sophia finished, her aunt sighed.
"My dear, I'm sorry."
Sophia looked at her.
"Aunty, please. I don't have anywhere else to go. Can I stay here for a few days?"
Her aunt looked uncomfortable.
"Sophia..."
"Please."
"I wish I could help you."
Sophia's heart sank.
"What do you mean?"
Her aunt took a deep breath.
"Your father called me."
Sophia stared at her.
"What did he say?"
Her aunt hesitated.
"He said I shouldn't allow you to stay here."
Sophia's eyes widened.
"He said that?"
"Yes."
"What else did he say?"
Her aunt lowered her voice.
"He said he doesn't want anyone helping you after you chose to go against him."
Sophia looked down at her suitcase.
She suddenly understood.
Her father had made sure she had nowhere to go.
She stood up slowly.
"Okay, Aunty."
"I'm sorry, Sophia."
"It's okay."
"No, it isn't."
Sophia forced a small smile.
"I understand."
She picked up her suitcase and walked out.
---
Sophia wandered around with no idea where to go.
She sat down somewhere and stared at the road.
She had left her father's house.
Her aunt couldn't take her in.
Her mother could only help her secretly.
She had nowhere to stay.
Sophia placed her hand on her stomach.
"What am I going to do?"
She closed her eyes.
Then suddenly, someone came to her mind.
Her childhood friend.
She quickly picked up her phone and called her.
"Hello?"
"Are you there?"
"Sophia?"
"Yes."
"What happened? You sound like you're crying."
Sophia wiped her face.
"I need your help."
"What happened?"
"I've left home."
"What?"
"My father asked me to leave."
There was silence on the other end.
Sophia continued.
"I'm pregnant, and I chose to keep my baby."
Her friend's voice softened.
"Where are you now?"
"I don't know where to go."
"Come to my house."
Sophia was surprised.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't want to be a burden."
"You are not a burden, Sophia. Come."
Sophia closed her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Thank you."
"Just come. We'll talk when you get here."
---
When Sophia arrived, her friend welcomed her with open arms.
She took the suitcase from her.
"Come inside."
Sophia entered.
"You can stay here for as long as you need."
Sophia looked at her friend.
"I don't know how to thank you."
"You don't have to thank me."
Sophia finally allowed herself to cry.
Her friend hugged her.
"Everything will be okay."
Sophia nodded.
For the first time since leaving her father's house, she felt safe.
She settled into her friend's home.
Days passed.
Then one afternoon, someone knocked on the door.
Sophia opened it.
Her mother stood outside.
"Mom?"
Her mother immediately pulled her into a hug.
"My daughter."
Sophia held her tightly.
"Mom, what are you doing here?"
"I came to see you."
They sat together.
Her mother looked at her carefully.
"How are you?"
"I'm managing."
"Are you eating well?"
Sophia nodded.
"Yes, Mom."
Her mother looked at her stomach.
"And the baby?"
Sophia smiled faintly.
"The baby is fine."
Her mother smiled.
"Thank God."
Sophia's eyes became wet.
"Mom, I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For everything that has happened."
Her mother shook her head.
"Don't apologize."
"But because of me, you and Dad are fighting."
Her mother held her hand.
"You didn't do anything wrong."
Sophia looked at her.
"I just wish Dad understood."
"Give him time."
"I was scared when I left."
"I know."
"I didn't know where I would go."
Her mother squeezed her hand.
"But you made the right choice."
Sophia looked at her mother.
"You really think so?"
"Yes."
Her mother smiled through her tears.
"You chose to protect your child. A mother should never regret protecting her child."
Sophia hugged her.
"Thank you, Mom."
Her mother held her tightly.
"Be strong."
"I will."
"Whatever happens, don't give up."
"I won't."
Her mother eventually stood up.
"I have to go."
Sophia looked at her sadly.
"So soon?"
"I don't want your father to become suspicious."
Sophia nodded.
"Okay, Mom."
Her mother hugged her one more time.
"Take care of yourself."
"I will."
"And take care of my grandchild."
Sophia smiled.
"I promise."
Her mother left.
Sophia stood at the door and watched her walk away.
She wiped her tears and slowly closed the door.
---
Meanwhile, James sat alone.
His mind was filled with thoughts of Sophia.
He wondered where she was.
He wondered if she was safe.
He had waited long enough.
He picked up his phone.
He stared at Sophia's name.
He hesitated for a moment.
Then he shook his head.
"I can't wait any longer."
James tightened his grip on the phone.
He was finally going to call her.
