🧧 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:
Prayer is the act of communicating with God and hearing Him speak back to you. Many people think prayer is all about dumping requests on God and then waiting for Him to answer, not caring what He thinks of their requests. Prayer is deeper than that, it is a two way thing.

David was a man of prayer. He understood the importance of prayer in daily life. He did not relegate prayer to an emergency response; he rather made it a way of life. He believed in the Lord with all his heart and he never took any step without asking God. Right from the days when Saul was after him till his days on the throne, David prayed. His life was preserved by the power of prayer.

David prayed all sorts of prayer - thanksgiving prayers, prayers for vengeance, prayers for deliverance, and so on. When the Philistines came against him, he did not go in military might. Rather, he prayed to God for direction and God went before him to fight. The Philistines would have easily conquered him if he wasn't a man of prayer (2 Samuel 5:19,23). Prayer was his lifestyle and because he spent a great deal of time in the presence of the Lord, he received deep revelations such as Psalm 110 where he prophesied about the Messiah.

From David, we learn the importance of living a life of prayer. Christians cannot afford to be prayerless, else, the devil would make minced meat of them. The world is getting more wicked by the day, only those who know their God would survive. It is strange that people expect to live by the mantra, "What will be, will be," when they can take authority through prayer. If David had not been given to prayer, he would have been destroyed even before he ascended the throne. If, by any chance, he had been enthroned, he wouldn't have lasted. Beloved, make prayer a lifestyle from today.
