Hey everyone, it's been a wild few days on Nigerian Twitter and TikTok. As someone who's always scrolling through trends (and yeah, I love a good viral drama as much as the next person), the whole Peller situation hit me differently. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I decided to pour my thoughts into this post. This is just my personal take โ no shade, just real talk.
For those who somehow missed it: Habeeb Hamzat, the 20-year-old TikTok star we all know as Peller, crashed his brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE on the Lekki-Epe Expressway on December 14, 2025. And get this โ he did it during a live stream titled "RIP Peller." He was crying, talking about not wanting to be mocked after a breakup, and even said things like "I will use this car and have an accident right now." Then boom โ he deliberately hit a barrier. The car was wrecked, airbags deployed, but thank God, he survived with no serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The backstory? It all ties to his relationship with fellow TikToker Jarvis (Amadou Elizabeth Aminata). Their romance has been pure online entertainment โ proposals, collabs, fights, the works. But rumors of a split blew up, and Jarvis later confirmed it on live, saying it's "over for now" and begging fans not to mock him because it was making things worse. She even admitted Peller struggles with controlling his emotions, but emphasized he's a sweet guy and needs support.
Then came the consequences: FRSC announced they'd prosecute him for reckless and distracted driving, and on December 16, Lagos Police arrested him for investigation into attempted su***de (which is illegal here) and endangering lives. As of today (December 17), he's been detained, and the case is ongoing.
Honestly, seeing the wrecked Benz photos broke my heart a bit โ not for the car (though โฆ110 million gone like that? Ouch!), but for how low someone can get under public pressure.
At the end of the day, I'm just glad Peller is alive and recovering. I hope he gets the help he needs โ therapy, time off the apps, real friends around him. And for all of us scrolling: Let's be kinder in the comments. Trends come and go, but people's lives are real.
