Monica part 1
Monica was the kind of woman people prayed to become one day. Calm, patient, loving, and strong in ways nobody noticed because she carried her pain so quietly. She believed in love with her whole heart. Not the social media type of love. Not the temporary kind people walk away from when things get difficult. Monica believed in commitment. Loyalty. Building a home. Growing old with one person.
When she met Daniel, she thought she had found exactly that.
He wasn’t rich when they met. He wasn’t perfect either. But Monica loved him beyond material things. She saw potential in him when even he doubted himself. While other women wanted comfort and luxury, Monica was willing to struggle beside him. She believed in building together.
They started small.
A tiny apartment with peeling paint, unstable electricity, and barely enough money to survive the month. Monica would wake up before sunrise every day to prepare food before work. Sometimes she skipped meals just so Daniel could eat properly. Sometimes she lied and said she wasn’t hungry when, in reality, her stomach burned from hunger.
But she never complained.
When Daniel lost his job, Monica became the backbone of the house. She worked extra shifts until her body ached. She sold some of her jewelry to help pay rent. She encouraged him when he felt like a failure. Every night she would hold his hands and remind him that things would get better.
And eventually, they did.
Daniel got another job. Then another opportunity came. Slowly, life started changing for them. They moved into a better apartment. Bought furniture together. Started living the life they once prayed for.
People admired them.
Everyone around them called Monica a “good wife.” The kind that is rare to find. She respected her husband, stayed faithful, avoided unnecessary drama, and protected her marriage with everything in her.
But nobody knew how much of herself she was losing quietly.
Monica stopped chasing her own dreams because she wanted Daniel to succeed first. She paused her business plans. She turned down opportunities. Every sacrifice she made, she made willingly because she believed they were building one future together.
Then came the children.
Motherhood changed her completely. Sleepless nights. Endless responsibilities. Taking care of the kids, the house, and still making sure Daniel never lacked attention. Even when she was exhausted, she still showed up for everyone.
But somewhere along the line, Daniel changed.
At first, it was little things.
He stopped complimenting her. Stopped noticing her efforts. Stopped asking if she was okay. He became distant. Cold. Always pressing his phone when she entered the room. Smiling at messages he never
