🔥 When Love Learned to Count to Ten 🔥
Chidi and Amara used to argue over everything—from toothpaste caps to burnt plantain. Their home felt like a mini battlefield.
One evening, after a long day, Chidi tasted Amara’s stew and frowned.
“Amara, this stew is—”
“Too salty, right? JUST SAY IT!” she snapped.
“And you always overreact!” he fired back.
Voices rising… tension building…
Then Chidi suddenly walked to the wall, placed his head on it and whispered,
“One… two… three…”
Amara blinked. “Are you counting?”
“Yes. If I don’t count, I’ll say nonsense.”
She burst into laughter.
Then closed her eyes and took deep breaths.
Together—they diffused the fight.
That night, they made a rule:
✨ Chidi counts to 10 before reacting.
✨ Amara takes 3 deep breaths before speaking.
And slowly, their home became peaceful again.
They still disagree—because marriage isn’t a Nollywood fairytale—but now they PAUSE before the storm.
Last week Amara burnt the plantain again.
They looked at each other…
He started counting.
She started breathing.
And they both burst into laughter.
Because sometimes, saving your marriage starts with managing your anger, not your partner. ❤️
