DON’T STRIKE HANDS

Proverbs 17:18 (KJV)...... A man void of understanding striketh hands, And becometh surety in the presence of his friend .

As a child of God, when you read verses like this and you meditate on them, you will get to a point where you will ask yourself what the Bible meant by striketh hands and why God is telling us not to do it.
What does this mean?

Firstly, it is important to know that the people who strike hands are people who lack understanding, i.e., they lack wisdom. It also means that if you have wisdom, you won’t strike hands. But what does 'striking hands' mean?

Proverbs 17:18 (NLT)...... It’s poor judgment to guarantee another person’s debt or put up security for a friend.

What this means is that you don’t stand as a surety for someone you don’t know, or don't stand as a guarantor for someone you don’t know. Any believer who goes to the police station to bail someone and to stand for the person should know the integrity of the person you are standing for lest you get into trouble.

Be wise today and avoid being put in trouble.

Prayer:
Thank you father for this timely wisdom. Thank you for opening my eyes to this truth and helping me by it to avoid future troubles. I am grateful oh Lord.

DON’T LET THEM DECEIVE YOU.

Isaiah 19:13 (KJV)..... The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

One of the consequences of being foolish is that you will be deceived. When we warn believers to be wise and that they shouldn't allow people to deceive them, some of them will either say it is not possible, or they will ask questions like, 'Am I a child?'

But if you look at our theme scripture, you will observe that the people were regarded as "fools", and the ones that eventually got deceived were nobles. They were princes. "The Bible calls them the princes of Zoan" and "the princes of Noph". Because of their position, you will expect them "to know" and to make decisions differently.

Another thing to also look at is that people that deceived them must be well trained because it takes a kind of guts to deceive these kinds of people.

Child of God, that you are a pastor or leader with 30 years' experience in the work of God does not change the fact that you can be deceived.

Isaiah 44:20 (KJV)..... He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

Don't develop a heart that is easily deceived, and this you will notice when you are the type that enjoys lies or that allows your emotions to control your judgement; if you are not careful you will fall prey to them. But guard your heart from today.

Prayer:
Lord, help my heart not to fall prey to deception and help me to walk in righteousness of faith in Christ Jesus. Amen.

GOOD TREE, GOOD FRUITS (PART 2)

Matthew 7:17-18 (KJV)...... Even so every good tree bringed forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

[18 ] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

The word " corrupt" is from the Greek "Sapros" and it means "rotten", i.e., worthless or bad. The Lord Jesus is saying that a tree that is corrupt (rotten or worthless or bad) cannot produce good fruit. A corrupt brother or sister cannot produce good thoughts.

Matthew 12:33 (KJV)........ Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

We measure how good you are by the fruits you bear. So, what do I look out for in measuring the fruits?

Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)...... Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

What is this corrupt communication?

Communication is one way you bear the fruits we are to look out for in you as a believer. Corrupt communications are words that destroy the faith of another; they are words that confuse the hearers; they are words that break the hearts of people; they are words with the language of sinners.

How can you call yourself a believer, but you still curse? How can you still use vulgar language? How can people come to you and not receive strength? Be wise.

Prayer:
I am a healthy tree that is full of life and my fruits are good and full of life. Amen.

GOOD TREE, GOOD FRUITS (PART 1).

Matthew 7:17 (KJV)...... Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Our Lord Jesus used a strong metaphor in our theme scripture in order to pass a message. He used the metaphor "Tree". What is the significance of using this?

Using a tree in this verse is directly touching the use of a human or person. So, the tree represents a human, and he is letting us know that as it is with the tree, so it is with humans.

If a tree is good, then the fruit will be good, but if a tree is corrupt, then the fruit will be corrupt. Don’t expect to get good fruit from a bad tree. You can’t be bad or evil and your fruit not be bad or evil. This alone should make you as believers be selective in nature because you don’t want to go with someone who will end up polluting your heart.

A brother or sister who is bad can't produce good fruit. An example is Judas when he walked into the room where a woman had just finished anointing the feet of Jesus. What did he say? He said, 'This is a great waste, and the perfume should have been sold and the money given to the poor.' But what did the Lord say to him? Jesus told him, 'You said this not because you cared for the poor but because you are a thief.' This means a bad person cannot give good advice. When people speak, look out for their intentions.
Be guided.

Prayer:
Thank you heavenly father for opening my eyes through your word to know how to function with men and what to expect from people. Thank you father for your guidance in Jesus name. Amen.
