People see the graduation photograph.

They see the gown.

The certificate.

The smile.

The celebration.

But they don't see the years behind it.

The fees.

The sacrifices.

The prayers.

The nights when the father wondered how he would make it work.

So when his daughter finally graduates...

He doesn't boast.

He bows.

Because gratitude belongs to Allah.

May Allah reward every parent who sacrifices quietly for their children's future.

The nearest city is four hours away. 🚛🤍

The prairies go to the horizon in every direction. The temperature is -22°C. He has been driving for 10 hours and has 8 more to go. He has not spoken to another human being since the last fuel stop five hours ago.

And at Fajr — on the Canadian prairie, under the stars, in the amber light of a rest stop lamppost — he spread his prayer mat on the concrete and made sujood. 🕌

He is completely alone out here. 🤍

Except he isn't. He never is.

Allah said:
«وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ»
"And He is with you — wherever you are."
(Surah Al-Hadid 57:4)

Wherever you are. On a Canadian prairie at -22°C with stars overhead and no one for 200 kilometres. He is there. 🕌

This Nigerian Muslim truck driver left Lagos for a better life. He found it in a 18-wheel cab crossing the Canadian winter. And he brought his Fajr with him — across every province, through every blizzard, at every rest stop under every Canadian sky. 🤍

WHAT IF THE THING YOU'RE CHASING IS DISTRACTING YOU FROM ALLAH?

Read that again.

Your career isn't necessarily bad.

Your ambition isn't necessarily bad.

Making money isn't necessarily bad.

Building a business isn't necessarily bad.

The question is:

What has become the centre of your heart?

Allah says:

اعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَزِينَةٌ

“Know that the life of this world is only play, amusement and adornment…”

📖 Surah Al-Hadid 57:20

The verse continues by describing the competition for wealth and children and reminding us that this worldly life is temporary, while Allah's forgiveness and pleasure are what truly matter.

So pursue your dreams.

Work hard.

Build something meaningful.

Take care of your family.

Seek halal provision.

But don't let the dunya become your god.

Because one day, the career ends.

The money stays behind.

The house belongs to someone else.

The followers disappear.

The applause stops.

And you stand before Allah.

🤍 So here's the question:

If you achieved EVERYTHING you wanted tomorrow, but lost your relationship with Allah… would you still call that success?

He has been praying in the toilets for two years. 🤍

Hiding. Making himself small. Telling himself he'd find a better time, a better place.

Until the World Cup this summer — when Muslim players in front of billions made sujood on the pitch without a single hesitation. And something changed inside him. 🕌

Today at lunch — he unrolled his mat in the middle of the schoolyard.

And his friend — who doesn't share his faith, who doesn't know the words, who has never prayed a day in his life — stood beside him with his arms folded. Facing outward. So he wouldn't be alone. 🤍

Allah said:
«أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ»
"The allies of Allah — no fear shall come upon them."
(Surah Yunus 10:62)

He was afraid for two years. He stopped being afraid today. And Allah sent him a guardian who doesn't even know why he's there — he just knows his friend needed someone beside him. 🕌

This is what Britain looks like at its best. This is what a 15-year-old Muslim boy looks like when he decides he is done being invisible. 🤍

Are you tired of struggling… and pretending you’re okay? 🤲

Sometimes, what we need most is not more money, more connections, or another opportunity.

Sometimes, we need Allah to make us free from want.

The Prophet ﷺ used to make this beautiful dua:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى

Allahumma innī as’alukal-hudā, wat-tuqā, wal-‘afāfa, wal-ghinā.

“O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, purity, and freedom from want.”
— Sahih Muslim 2721a

You may be struggling financially.
You may be carrying a burden nobody knows about.
You may simply be praying for a better tomorrow.

May Allah give you what you need, protect your dignity, and make you independent of need. Ameen. 🤲

The Dua: "Dua for When Things Become Difficult"

Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ لاَ سَهْلَ إِلاَّ مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلاً وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلاً

Transliteration: Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla

Meaning: "O Allah, there is no ease except in what You make easy, and You make the difficult, if You will, easy."
