A father gave each of his two sons ₦5,000.

The first son spent it before sunset.

The second son used part of it to buy snacks, sold them around his neighbourhood, and returned home with more money than he started with.

Years later, both sons blamed their father for treating them "the same."

The father smiled and said,

"I didn't give you different money.

You simply made different decisions."

Life isn't always fair.

But sometimes, what separates two people isn't what they received.

It's what they did with what they received.

We've heard this statement for years.

But is it really true?

Or does money simply reveal who people have always been?

Think about it...

A generous person with little money often becomes more generous when they have more.

A selfish person may simply have more opportunities to show their selfishness.

Perhaps money doesn't create character.

Perhaps it exposes it.

REALITY CHECK

A young graduate walked into an interview wearing his only suit.

It wasn't expensive.

The shoes had been polished so many times that the colour had started to fade.

He was nervous because he knew other candidates looked more confident and better dressed.

As he waited, he noticed another applicant arrive in an expensive car, wearing a designer suit and carrying the latest phone.

For a moment, he almost convinced himself he had already lost.

When the interview began, something interesting happened.

The interviewers were less interested in the suit and more interested in his ideas, honesty, willingness to learn, and attitude.

That day, he got the job.

The expensive suit didn't get the position.

His preparation did.

Sometimes we spend so much time comparing ourselves with people who seem ahead that we forget to improve what truly matters.

Appearance can open a conversation.

Character, knowledge, and preparation sustain opportunities.

As you begin this new week, invest in becoming better, not just looking better.

A young man once asked an old carpenter,

"How did you become so successful?"

The old man smiled and replied,

"Because I learned to finish what I started."

The young man looked confused.

The carpenter pointed to an old chair in his workshop.

"When I was learning this trade, my master never allowed me to leave a chair unfinished.

Even if I was tired...
Even if I was discouraged...
Even if no one was going to buy it...

I had to finish it.

Years later, I realized he wasn't teaching me how to build furniture.

He was teaching me discipline."

Many of us don't fail because we lack talent.

As we begin a new week, let's commit our plans, our families, our work, and our dreams into God's hands.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of a new day and the beginning of another week.

We ask for Your wisdom in every decision we make, Your protection wherever we go, and Your favour in everything we lay our hands on.

Bless those looking for jobs.
Strengthen those running businesses.
Give peace to families facing difficult moments.
Comfort those carrying silent burdens.
Open doors that no one can shut, and grant us the courage to walk through every opportunity You place before us.

May this week bring good news, divine connections, progress, good health, and unexpected blessings.

Guide our steps and help us become a blessing to others.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Movie Review: Terminally Crazy

I just finished watching Terminally Crazy, and I have to say it was a huge disappointment.

As viewers, we invest our time, internet data, and sometimes even money to watch movies because we expect to be entertained, inspired, or at least leave with something meaningful. Unfortunately, this film didn't deliver on any of those expectations.

The storyline lacked direction, the comedy felt forced rather than genuinely funny, and there was no clear message or memorable takeaway. Instead of a well-structured plot, it felt like a collection of scenes that didn't come together into a satisfying story.

One thing I believe actors and actresses should take seriously is the kind of projects they accept. Many of them are role models, and audiences admire their work. While everyone needs to earn a living, not every script is worth accepting. A strong performance cannot completely rescue a weak story.

Choosing quality productions helps build a lasting reputation, while repeatedly appearing in poorly written films can gradually diminish an actor's brand and the audience's confidence in their work. The industry grows when everyone—writers, producers, directors, and actors—commits to higher standards.

Nollywood has shown that it is capable of producing excellent films. That's why it's disappointing when a movie with so much potential falls short because of weak writing and poor storytelling. Viewers deserve stories that respect the time, data, and attention they invest.

If I were to rate Terminally Crazy, I would give it 3 out of 10.

My hope is that filmmakers focus more on quality scripts, meaningful storytelling, and productions that leave audiences satisfied rather than regretting the time they spent watching.
