🚨 STORY TIME – PART 3 🚨
Months passed.
Chinedu graduated with flying colors.
The entire village came out to celebrate him.
There was music, dancing, and laughter everywhere.
As people congratulated him, Chinedu searched through the crowd until he found Amara.
He walked over and hugged her tightly.
"We did it," he whispered.
Amara smiled.
"No, Chinedu. You did it."
For the first time in years, she felt every sacrifice had been worth it.
A few weeks later, Chinedu got a job offer in Lagos.
The salary was more money than he had ever imagined.
The whole village rejoiced.
Even Amara couldn't stop smiling.
"This is your season," she told him.
Before leaving, Chinedu held her hands.
"Nothing will change between us."
Amara laughed.
"I know."
The first few months were beautiful.
He called every morning.
He called every night.
Sometimes they would talk for hours.
Then gradually...
Things began to change.
The calls became shorter.
The messages became fewer.
The excuses became more frequent.
"I'm busy."
"I'll call you later."
"I have a meeting."
One evening, Amara called him.
The phone rang.
No answer.
She called again.
No answer.
An hour later, Chinedu called back.
"I'm sorry. I've been busy."
Amara smiled.
"It's okay. I just missed hearing your voice."
There was silence.
The kind of silence that makes your heart uncomfortable.
The kind of silence that says something has changed.
A few days later, Chinedu posted a picture on social media.
Standing beside him was a beautiful, well-dressed woman.
The caption read:
"Success comes with meeting amazing people."
Amara stared at the picture.
Something about it didn't feel right.
But she shook the feeling away.
After all...
This was Chinedu.
The same Chinedu who promised never to forget.
Right?
